this is not advertised to help with the drive belt it is for lubricating the walking belt to help keep down noise and free motion of treadmill walking belts, it also keeps the belts from drying out cracking and or deteriorating, the first 2 reviews on here are from uninformed people, this product is made specifically for icon fitness treadmills which include : proform, nordictrack, reebok, healthrider and many other good brand name products

I have a Nordic Track C1800i that squeaks, and customer service told me to use ONLY Performant lube on it. I purchased 2 tubes, so I'd have a spare. I didn't think that Nordic Track Customer service had my problem diagnosed accurately, and that my real problem is not the belt... and I was right. The lube decreased some of the squeaking, but not by much (I think it's with the rollers or elsewhere). BUT IT TAKES TWO TUBES, NOT ONE, TO LUBRICATE MY TREADMILL. I used it all.

I purchased two tubes of this and so far have used one. This stuff is great. My treadmill was overheating and the belt was slipping, after about 40 minutes the treadmill would shut itself down to prevent overheating. I put on one tube of Performant lube and the treadmill is running great...has not overheated nor has the belt slipped. My son will spend about 40 min to an hour running and the treadmill has not overheated once since I used this stuff. I will definitely purchase this again.

We have a Proform Crosswalk Treadmill. We got the idea for this lube in the instruction manual as to what type we needed. Actually, the manaul is a bit slack as to troubleshooting. Anyway, we ordered this lube and used the two tubes. It really solved the problem. The problem was that the belt would slow when I stepped on it but ran fine when off of it. The lube is easy to put on. The instuctions are very clear. I recommend to check your manual first before getting any lube to make sure you are getting the right lube for your treadmill.

Make sure it is the lube and not the drive belt,

I gave an average rating as I haven't used this product yet.
I had a similar situation, but after looking at the first review, I was hesitant about buying this product, so I did a little more investigation. It paid off as I found the drive belt from the motor to the drive roller was lose. After tightening it up, the treadmill worked fine. If the front roller doesn't turn when you step on the treadmill, then your drive belt is lose and not the walking belt. It is unfortunate that the treadmill manuals don't go into further troubleshooting procedures instead of just saying, 'tighten the walking belt' or use 'Performant Lube' only. I'm planning on buying this product for yearly maintenance to keep down wear and tear.

It works!,

After years of neglect, I used this product to stop the belt from sticking due to friction. It took two tubes; but, it was worth every penny. Make sure to get the lube toward the center of the belt.

"Best oil by far" Used others and they do not hold up to this Performant Lube! Lubrication lasts and to me this creates value and saved money. I use with out applicator just tear open and spread all under belt with packet in hand. Alittle messy but this way all oil is left under belt where it is needed...not left on applicator! Cleans easy! Great product!

Only good thing about this lube is that it won't violate most warantees. But it's messy, almost impossible to apply correctly, and you get very little per tube. Opt for after market lubes with better application options.

Lubricant for NordicTrack Treadmill,

Our 2003 NordicTrack APEX 6100xi Treadmill started to make some pretty awful screeching noises in 2010. This built up to a level where we had to do something about it. We thought it could be a lubrication problem and found we should only use their special lubricant.
We found this ICON lubricant (ICON makes NordicTrack treadmills) and ordered it from Amazon. It arrived fairly quickly. Amazon was a nice deal since we could use free super saver shipping and other places wanted to charge a lot for shipping. The package included instructions on how to apply the lubricant. That went pretty well. Unfortunately we DID NOT NEED lubricant. The sound did not go away. After playing with the walking belt a bit more we found it was rubbing against the front right end of the walking board. I loosened the belt and found the plastic cover on the walking board was cracked on the corner and when the walking belt ran over that corner it would make the plastic vibrate and as you speed up it gets louder and louder! The lubricant seems fine, but I wanted to write this review in case someone else runs into a similar noise problem on their treadmill. Check all over to see if something is rubbing or vibrating. The real key to finding this noise was when I ran the treadmill with the walking belt loose so it didn't move. Then as I tightened the belt the noise slowly came back. When the belt was moving but too loose to walk on, I found that if I lifted up the belt slightly the sound would go away (with the belt still moving). But this only worked in one location. That's when I loosened the belt all the way and checked the walking deck underneath. For this NordicTrack it looks like I might be able to get a new walking board for $110 from Sears parts or $200 from TreadmillDoctor. I've not looked into it very much yet as I'm hoping I can repair the existing cover rather than shell out for an $100 piece of plywood that is covered by plastic. |
