4.0 out of 5 stars Ida Early Comes Over The Mountain, January 31, 2000
By
By: Robert Burch Reviewed By: Alyssa Dianni and Casey Oyer

The book Ida Early comes Over the Mountain is a book with tons of surprises. The characters are Clay, Dewey, Ida, Mr.Sutton, Randall and Ellen. This book is about a family who's mother died and needed help around the house. Their Aunt Earnestine was helping but she was too stern. Then one day an ugly tall lady came and changed their lives. I think the author's message was that you shouldn't judge people by their looks. Like Ida, she wasn't attractive but she was a nice lady and pretty at heart. Casey Says- This book is great. My favorite part is when the kids played Country Club and Ida early walked in and said the password. I thought it was funny how she wasn't scared and thought it was silly. The kids were confused and I laughed. Alyssa's Says-I think this book has many details. For example: " Her face was plan, her complexion ruddy and her hair light brown and stringy." My favorite part was when Clay and Dewey fought over who would get the red jawbreaker. I think the saddest part is when Ida and the kids went to the carnival. A guy, named Nook, made fun of Ida. He called her a freak. If you want to find out all the surprises Ida brings to the Sutton family and if you like funny books read: Ida Early Comes Over The Mountain

5.0 out of 5 stars Response to ida Early, January 27, 2000
Ida Early comes Over the Mountain is a wonderful book. it is humerous through out the story and the author makes you feel that you are one of the characters. This story is about four Sutton children who live with their father. Their mother died last summer and their aunt lives with them. Soon a tall lady arrives named Ida Early. She teaches the family lessons and you never know what Ida is going to do. This book is full of adventures, and I think people of all ages will love it. Since I liked this book so much on a scale 1-10 i will rate it a ten. the moral of this book is to never judge a person by the outside but by the inside.
