I have not yet finished reading the book. So far, I have found it to be extremely thorough, giving examples from Ifa verses, for just about everything an Ifa initiate or student must know to begin reshaping his/her life. This book is giving me a much clearer understanding of the Ifa faith. I am only disappointed by the typographical and grammatical errors in the text.This is the only thing keeping me from giving this book a five star rating. Baba Fasina Falade has compiled a great amount of useful information into a very thorough and sensible learning tool. Magnificent work by the author. Still, we could use a little help on the editing/publishing side. (Like a good proofreader)

This book by Chief Fasina Falade, Ifa: The Key to it's Understanding, is an absolutely wonderful book. It is, for me, an indispensable and authoritative guide into understanding the nature of Ifa and that which is demanded of those who have chosen (or who have been chosen) to follow the ancestral way of Ifa. The book also communicates the depth, beauty, power, elevation, sacredness, and sublimity of this ancestral path. My praise to Chief Falade for his generosity in sharing with those of us who are seeking the truth this wonderful work, for it is helping me to be guided in the correct way. I give thanks to Olodumare, to Ori, to Irunmole, to Orisa, to Egun, and to all the diviners and teachers of Ifa who have contributed to this book's creation. There is ineffable richness here. I highly recommend the work for anyone in search of enlightenment and spiritual transformation. Mo juba o! Mo dupe! Aboru, aboye.

Alafia aborisha and those interested in learning the Ancestral ways of Ifa. This is an EXCELLENT book for those wishing to increase upon their understanding and progress within the tradition of Ifa. The highlight of this book is that it shows, hands down, the profound ethical insight of our Yoruba/African Ancestors. It proves further that Ifa is not just a religion of "ritual" as has been misconstrued by anthropologists and others who even misrepresent Ifa in their very practice thereof. Oloye Fasina Falade should be considered a great Elder in its truest since; a living landmark that will help African people return to their traditions in a timely and honorable fashion. As a spiritual disciple of Oloye Ifa Karade I find Oloye Falade's work to be right in the tradition of our spiritual directive which is to return the people to tradition. Modupe Egunwa for the spirit that incarnates Oloye Fasina Falade. Ase, Ase, Ase O!

If anyone is interested in learning about our traditional religion, YOU should purchase Baba Fasina Falade's new book! IT is called 'Ifa, Key's to it's Understandings'. A little info on Baba Fasina Falade: HE was Intiated into Ifa in Nigeria, Africa. He is a person with good character and always willing to help anyone in the search for the truth. It is my beleif and experience, that what Baba Fasina Falade's has written in this book is something that will and can help anyone in search for the truth and love about this religion. This is the first book I have read, that has real information about our beautiful Religion IFA-Orisa. This book is filled with valuable information on orisa worship, taboos, how to feed the orisa, how to pray (correctly), etc. Along with that it has quite a collection of beautiful prayers in it. I recommend this book to everyone looking to learn about what this religion has to offer us and what we can offer it. As you read this book, You can feel the love and devotion that Baba Fasina Falade put into writing this 768 page book! Honestly, It should be referred to as OUR BIBLE!

It is the ese Ifa that are accepted as the hub of Ifa practice and spirituality. This book contains the largest collection of Ifa verses I have seen under one cover. The book provides detailed ritual sequences, and the writer identifies the ethical standards that underpin the traditional Yoruba worldview.

But the book's editing is not so good. I would give this book five stars, if the volume were not so poorly copyedited and proofed. It may even have been published from the manuscript. Also, the voice in the writing sounds to me a lot like that of another excellent Ifa priest, Popoola. (See his Practical Ifa Divination.)

It comes securely hard bound in a green cover embossed with gold. The print is comfortably large.

In my opinion, this book is a must-read for the serious student of Ifa.

Olubikin Fasina Falade breaks down to it's most basic components the sacred Odu. This book enables the serious devotee, the priest, and neophyte to understand Ifa with more clarity and depth.

Baba Fasina, most importantly, emphasizes in this wonderful book, the importance of ethics, morality and divine good character that should be exhibited by devotees and priests alike.

This book is destined to become a classic in this field.

I certainly look forward to any upcoming works from this author.

Baba Fasina Falade has presented the world with a fine work on Orisa worshipping and understanding the basic principals that create the foundation of Ifa. Not only is the work recommended reading for Orisa worshippers, but it is also helpful for those that seek truth on a Universal level. Baba is a wonderful teacher,and he has helped many students along the way. I suggest that anyone interested in Yoruba practices purchase this book. Ifa teaches how to honor your ancestors,teaches one how to develop good character, teaches some prayers, teaches about the Orisa and some Odu. It is an investment in your spiritual growth and understanding of the Universe and Self This book is a MUST HAVE for any student in any tradition that branches off from traditional Yoruba practices and any traditions that deal with the Spirit realm.

This if by far one of the most important books ever produced on Ifa in the West. However I do want people to know that even though it is challenging to find, it CAN be found. Do not pay over the suggested retail value!
