The perfect solution,

This review is from: IG-A03: i.Trek Vent Mount for Garmin Nuvi 200, 200W, 250, 250W, 260, 260W, 270, 205, 205W, 255, 255W, 265T, 265WT, 275T, 500, 550, 680, 750, 760 (Electronics)
This mount is working great for me. It is easy to put in and remove from the vent so there is nothing permanently installed in the car that screams, "break in and steal my gps." It puts my garmin nuvi high enough to easily see the screen without blocking my view of the road. The plastic does feel a little cheap (hence the price), but it has held up great for the last three months I have owned it. Before you buy one, however, I would recommend you look at the depth of the slats on your vent to make sure they are not longer than about 1/2" so the claw will fit over them.

Best vent mount out there,

I used the vent mount without the springs for about 9 months and was always frustrated that it moved whenever I tapped the screen. This one has springs and is MUCH more secure. It also has a lockable swivel joint so you can angle it towards you. I'm very happy with it. This is definitely the one to buy...

Good enough.,

First, I was concerned that the page title of this product didn't say "360" for my Nuvi 360 but in the description it did say Nuvi 360. Well, it works great. The springs that are on it actually push toward the vent and creates a tighter grip. However, if you're driving down dirt roads, or off road, this would NOT make a better option. The vibration is minimal since most paved roads are reasonably smooth..though, I suppose that depends on how well this device fits on your vent. The ball joint allows for tighter gripping of the unit to prevent movement, allowing you to point the GPS directly at you without worrying about it falling down.
I drive a Volkswagen Passat (2004) and it fits just fine. Though it does look bigger in the picture than it really is.

Arm Clips Not Long Enough for Vents,
By J. S. (California United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: IG-A03: i.Trek Vent Mount for Garmin Nuvi 200, 200W, 250, 250W, 260, 260W, 270, 205, 205W, 255, 255W, 265T, 265WT, 275T, 500, 550, 680, 750, 760 (Electronics)
I was disappointed that the arms just have .75" clearance to place on the vent. Mine was 1.2" and therefore vent was deeper than the arm clips to hold them to. Don't get me wrong...it works on my home wall air conditioner vent, but not my car vent (thus the 2 stars for it does work).

An OK mount. Can't beat the price,

For $4, you can't really go wrong with this mount whether you like it or not. For me, I'm probably going to stick with the friction mount though. I find removing this mount is much harder than installing it. I'm afraid of damaging my air vent. If you're planning on "setting and forgetting" this mount, I recommend it. If you're like me and don't like any signs of a GPS in the car, I'd probably look an an alternative. Getting the mount out of the vent is not as easy as getting it in. It's not a process I want to repeat every time I park my car. Other than that, the mount is ridiculously cheap, and does work.

Works a lot better than the Arkon GN047,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I first bought the Arkon GN047 and it didn't work for me because the clips are made of plastic. The more you squeeze them to open up the clips, the more you're bending them backwards and because they are plastic, they will never return to the same position they were when you first bought it. That means, the more you squeeze them, the less tight they were grip the vent louvers. After awhile, you'll be able to pull them right out of the vent without squeezing the clips at all!
So I got the IG-A03 and was instantly satisfied and it's been on my car (and my wife's car) for several weeks now with no problems at all. The GPS hasn't fallen off the vent louver (with the Arkon, it did twice) and it stays on really well even after going over big bumps. The only problem I have is the ball joint is a hair too small. I find my GPS pivots a little too easily but I don't believe it moves on its own. When I try to adjust it, it feels too loose. It could just be the one in my car because the one in my wife's car seems fine. I do have a 3rd that I can try so I may just swap it. Great product too since it's so cheap!

Great For The Money,
By Since the GPS ends up a few inches away from the dash/vent, there is just a bit of vibration while the vehicle is in motion, but not enough to render the GPS (Garmin 760 in my case) unusable or unreadable. Again, it depends on how you have the bottom resting. But I suppose there's no way around that without having the mount/GPS permanently affixed to the dash.

Great Mount - Truly Removable,
By Crowsfeet (Sonoma, CA) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I unfortunately ordered a vent mount for my Garmin Nuvi 550 from Costco, which said it was removable. The "tweezer" arms that attach to the vent would be VERY difficult to remove without damaging the vent. Also, mine didn't come with a Garmin attachment, so wouldn't have worked anyway.
Returned Costco one and did some searching on Amazon to find this one. I am so happy to find this as the spring-loaded arms are easily removable. Sits about three inches away from the vent and though lower than dash height, is easy to see. I am using this to replace the expensive Garmin beanbag mount that goes flying when you make any turns from a traffic light. (96 Honda Accord) In my estimation, that's far more dangerous than attaching to windshield with a suction cup (banned in California) and I don't have a flat place on the dash to attach the disk for the suction cup mount. This mount is a winner!

Good, not great...,
By JDK "cougarfan2" (Charleston, SC) - See all my reviews

I have been trying to get my Garmin Nuvi 350 off the windshield and out of sight...I have a 2001 Nissan Frontier...this little bracket was less than six dollars, postage included, and was delivered in less than a week...actually it is perfect for what I needed, it is sturdy enough for a 350 and holds it at a better location, on the second a/c vent, almost invisible from outside...it has an adjustable and locking ball mount...the a/c vent now points down due to the weight of the GPS but the unit is closer to my right hand and my glance from the road to look at or tap it is less than it was...here's the only problem...I like to remove the Nuvi each time I leave the vehicle, not only to deter theft but to reduce exposure to the intense heat of the SC sun...the bracket is difficult and tricky to remove from the vent without breaking one or the other and the ball joint is very tight, it's next to impossible to just separate the unit from the bracket at the ball joint...I guess I'll work on it and think of something, maybe sand the ball joint down...my advice is to try it, it's only $6, fits many different units, see the listing.
