The Suction cup mount kept falling off the windshield so I was looking for a new mount. I ordered this unit and have been very pleased with the results. It easily slided over the louvers on the A/C outlet and securely holds the GPS unit. Its only down fall, and its not the fault of the mount, is that it ads weight to the louvers and pulls them down so you can't aim the louver up to direct the air up and away from you. It was designed to be used on horizitional(?) louvers but it will also work on vertical units as well. I hace bought two additional holders for my other cars.

Like the older IG-A03 this clip can be expanded with a bike reflector bracket around the front socket to mount atop the dash reliably, out of the airflow. See the review on the IG-A03. For that possibility I rate it the best. The only problem might be the length of the clips some reported too short for some cars when limited to 3/4". If this one is also too short and some of the other "clothespin" types work on wider slats, the pins might be transferable to this one, as they are separated parts looking very similar.

This clip uses a pressure grip on the slats without the prominent hook behind the slat on the spring-loaded IG-A03. This allows it to be used on longer slats, round slats and vertical slats supposedly better. For horizontal slats which fit I'd prefer the A03, maybe even vertical ones up to 3/4". Best examine the application carefully before selecting.

This works well for what it is supposed to do. I have circular vents in my '10 Honda Pilot and it hasn't been unstable yet. Keeps it in a less conspicuous location and wires aren't all over my dash. Only downside is that yes, it blocks the air from that vent very effectively.

It's a pleasure to pay just $6 for a product and find that it works great. The clip does not feel flimsy, it grips air vents well, and it slides off easily when you want to remove it. I have successfully used it in a 2003 GMC Yukon XL Denali, a 1998 Volvo S90 and a 2010 Volvo S80. All this is with a Garmin Nuvi 775 GPS.

I have a 2011 Sonata which has vertical air vents. I mounted my garmin next to the console air vent. Mount is fairly stable.

This mount is all plastic including the clips. I can see the clips breaking off if you try to force it. I would give this 5 stars if the clips were better designed, even if it cost a couple dollars more.

I just came back from vacation. I used this vent mount on a 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan. It held on tight from day one to the end of my trip two weeks later. I drove from Delaware to California. Never had one problem. I even drove the 12 mile trek up a mountain side to a ghost town in Bodie, CA. The last 3 miles of this drive is a dirt road with stones and large potholes everywhere. The vehicle was shaking so bad that the luggage was falling over in the back. The Garmin nuvi 1450 would lower on the mounting bracket but never came loose. It was still easily viewable when it lowered. When I came to the end of the road, I just adjusted it and it was fine and remained tight. It was a 6500 mile trip and worked great. You can easily touch the screen while driving and the clip remained tight. I do not know how it would work on other vehicles but it worked perfect on a 2011 Toyota Sienna.

Plastic is of poor quality and not sturdy. Wouldn't hold the GPS without pulling out of the AC vent. A real struggle to keep anchors in place. Don't waste your money

One of the clip pins broke off the first time I tried to push it onto the vent fin. Be careful when installing. I used super glue to put it back together, we will see how long it lasts.
