Well made. I like it. Working great on my new nuvi 265T.
I would buy other products again from this manufacturer.

Having read some of the other reviews, I was a bit concerned with how this extension might wobble in my shock-shot more-than-two-decade-old 4WD vehicle. I was pleasantly surprised to experience minimal wobble on roads ranging from barely paved country lanes to interstate highways. I use the extension to move my small GPS [Nuvi 255] from a position where the steering wheel blocks some of it to sticking nearly straight out into my face, just below dashboard level. It works adequately for my purposes, although it might look a bit odd to passengers. (But really, if they aren't used to the occasional Oddity by now what the hell are they doing in *my* vehicle in the first place?)

This mount looked like a great way to deal with my extra-deep dashboard and extra-short arms. :-)

Unfortunately, having such a long tube gives way too much flexion. The GPS unit vibrated even at low speeds. If anyone has figured out how to address the problem, I'd love to know what to do. Until then, I'll use the suction mount that I also purchased here: ARKON GN115 Garmin Nuvi Travelmount Mini Windshield / Dash Mount

We have only been using this for a week or so but are very pleased with this product so far. The long gooseneck helps tremendously...it allows much easier access to the GPS. It's also long enough that the passenger can reach it when helping to maneuver heavy traffic areas/look for gas or food, etc. Wonderful product!

We got tired of reaching all the way to the windshield to access our Garmin in our Toyota Sienna. Saw this extension on Amazon, and thought the price was cheap enough, so we gave it a try. It's great. The arm extends the GPS to where the dashboard is and makes the GPS much more accessible. Highly recommended, very pleased with our purchase.

Not impressed. The rubber housing that covers the long arm started to fall apart after a week of use. It was a cheap purchase. Basically you get what you pay for. Cheap price sometimes equals a cheap product much like this one.

This would be a great item if the suction-cup wasn't so under-sized and flimsy.
The neck of the unit is very strong and very long, which places the GPS (or cell phone... or whatever) right where you can easily access it.
Sadly, the critical failing in the design is the lackluster suction-cup portion.
It holds well enough in the warmer months, but as soon as freezing-temps arrive, this thing will not stay on your windshield.
What happens, is that rubber that the suction-cup is made from gets very ridged in the colder temps. Once it hardens up, it just falls off whatever it's stuck to.

Try as I may to address the problem, it is beyond my ability to fix. The issue is this: the suction-cup itself is too small in diameter and made from too-thin a rubber.
If one of these two issues were fixed, I'm pretty sure it would at least remain stuck to my windshield.
Either make the cup material thicker, so that it forms a stronger bond, and doen't firm-up as easily in the cold.
Or, make the cup a larger diameter, to better disperse the pressure across the windshield surface.

Ah well, at least it was cheap. Haha...

P.S. - What is the "Speed" rating in reference to? I rated it 5-stars, but have no idea what it means?
Is it perhaps in reference to how fast you're going to throw it out the window? If so, I stick with my 5-star rating.

Properly described. It does what it says it does. The arm is a bit stiff but that just helps it stay in whatever conformation you put it in. sticks really well to your windshield, even where previous gps holders kept falling off. Good buy!

i use it in my semi truck its perfect. it brings the unit closer for easier use..

This windshield mount is great i'm a professional truck driver, i use my gps mount 3 weeks a month it works on every truck i drive, and i drive alot of different trucks. I have the grip mount also, it came with my gps it works but not on every truck liks this mount. If you are going to buy just 1 mount i highly recomend this mount
