These are great speakers that pack quite a punch of sound considering their size.
I use them with my 13"MacBookPro and it also has a bigger sound than my Powerbook desktop.
The sound and quality are clear and I feel are balanced enough for general listening of acoustic music and voice.

I have been wanting these particular speakers for some time, and for the price they are certainly a great deal. I am little disappointed by the fact that they don't last longer between needing charging, but when charged they have a great sound quality. They do get fuzzy and make a terrible scratching sound when they do need to be recharged which can be frustrating because it comes on suddenly, there is no warning that the power is running low. It is also frustrating that they only come with a USB cord for recharging and can't be charged in a power outlet without an additional piece, but that piece can be purchased easily and cheaply. Word to the wise though, despite the fact that they are called "ihome" speakers, they are not made by Apple, so when I first had concerns about the sound they were making when they needed recharging, I took them to the nearest Apple store and was told that they couldn't help me (even though they do sell the speakers there as well.)
Overall, however, I am pleased with them, and happy that I made the purchase. I would definitely do so again.

I did' expect these small units 2 create such good sound. And being able 2 recharge is a plus. I was running an old inmotion origional ipod unit (which i love and refuse 2 give up) but I have no problem now. The sound if good enough 4 my bedroom and the speakers are easy 4 me 2 move around even in my weakened state. Hook up was a breeze - like 30 seconds or so. I really never expected this quality of sound & they look pretty cool or since they are small they are easy 2 hide (in the open - no oe would even think they were speakers)

I travel on business around half the time to every corner of the world as a band manager and music industry consultant. My tools for the road are a MacBook Air, an iPad and the iPhone. They're extremely portable and very powerful at the same time for getting things done as well as providing entertainment during the long business trips. I'm also a guitar player and plug the guitar into any of these devices to play and record music in my spare time. I decided that I needed very portable speakers so I don't have to always use the headset to listen to music or playing the guitar.

I looked at a variety of options and decided to go with the iHM79SC. Having a few iHome units around in the house, I felt reasonably confident that this unit would do the job. I'm happy to say that these speakers actually exceeded my expectations in every possible way. It's as small and light as I hoped it to be and it sounds as good as I expected it to be. One important thing for me with a set of speakers is stereo separation and being able to place the two speakers about two feet apart really is the clincher in getting a good room-filling sound.

As far as sound quality, one has to expect tradeoffs for getting something this small and portable. You're simply not going to get the deep low-end and clear midrange with silky highs with speakers this size. But it's certainly good enough for most hotel rooms to hook up your laptop and iOS devices. I also use it at home now hooked up to an AirPort Express to stream music from the iPhone anywhere in the house. This is one of those devices that really made me feel like I'm getting a big bang for the buck and that doesn't happen often. I'm one very happy camper with this tiny speaker set.

I purchased these for my husband to use with his ipod in areas without electicity. For the price, these have a great sound. No, they will not replace high quality speakers but that is not what they are designed for. They are small enough to fit in a purse and the charge will last for at least 5 hours.

We brought them with us to a picnic and everyone was impressed with the size and quality.

I justs purchased the set of small magnetic speakers for my computer. They are small enough to carry with my laptop and are easy to plug and play. What a neat idea! Ben Radin

So, I recently purchased the iHM7 original rechargeable single speaker by IHome, and loved the quality for a little tiny portable speaker. After the purchase, I was determined to get a stereo set, and was stuck deciding between the new iHM77 or the iHM79. The iHM79's seemed to have slightly better reviews, so I got these. Just finished charging, and hooked up to my Ipod Touch. One complaint about these speakers is they have no volume control...volume must be adjusted through your output device (in my case my Ipod Touch.) Sound quality is excellent though. Very clear; so much more than the individual iHM7 that I'm really impressed because I was already impressed by that one. The thing that really amazes me is you get the same sound quality as a $50 boombox that would take around 8 D batteries in something that weighs about 1/10th as much, plus you get the rechargeable batteries that last longer than I can think of using them. I use these mostly to listen to music while tanning, (I hate having earbuds in while getting UV.) These definitely aren't something you want to bring to an outdoor party with multiple people, but for a few people sitting around in a room, they are more than enough to kick it to. Great product, and I'm actually kind of amazed that Bose doesn't have something like this patented and selling for $100 - $150 a pair. I WILL recommend this to others lol.

I bought these speakers after my iHM77 speakers broke because I was a little rough with them. The iHM79SC are slightly larger than my old speakers and iHOME has greatly improved the construction of this newer model, though the design is quite similar. Another plus is that the unremovable cord that attaches the two speakers has been lengthened somewhat, and it is also thicker and therefore less prone to damage. As for the sound, it's good enough, slightly fuller than the iHM77, but don't expect miracles. Depending upon what kind of computer you use, you may not get much base out of these speakers. I would principally recommend the speakers for their sturdy construction and portability. If base is what you want, I would go with the Logitec Notebook speakers, which have exceptional base, though they are not as ideal for travel.

I use with my iPad when doing presentations. Very good sound if working with a small room or small group. Doesn't do well with a larger room, but didn't expect them too. Have very good sound

I bought this product a month ago and I am using this without any problems. I never had any such compact/portable speakers. This works really great. This speakers are easy to connect, easy to carry, easy to charge. The sound quality is not that high quality who is looking for like movie theater sound, but this is good for a person who is looking for a good quality sound anywhere to go.
The charging will last for 6-7 hours.
