The Ihra drag racing game (P2)if you know about Drag racing cars and how select the right engine, tranmisson and tires this game is good for ya.It will take a long time to come up with the rightcombination to get any car to go faster then your opponet car from first playing the game. I think they sould have put some type specification for an example.

This game is a gas,

If you love drag racing, this game is more fun than anything I have ever seen. Can spend hours at a time on it. The programming does have a few glitches: in bracket racing while running a single event or an entire season, you can't change the dial-in time between runs (supposed to be able to, but it doesn't work). Also, as mentioned in other reviews, the instruction manual is sorely lacking. Setting up events or seasons can be cumbersome, but the smart person can find a way around that (save the setup once you have it). One other thing I would change is to have an option to eliminate the 2 practice rounds before every event, since they take much longer than the actual races. However, in spite of the glitches (what can you expect ...?), once you are set up to race, it is FUN. Despite what some reviewers have said, it IS available to 2 players. My brother and I have spent literally hours and hours racing. What I really like about it is that you don't have to be a nimble-fingered, button-tapper to play it. A few logical sequences of buttons to push, and you are on your way. I don't know about the complaints about the graphics, not being a bigtime video gamer, but they are adequate for me. In summary, this is one of the least costly and most entertaining games I have ever played.

Must Have,

This game is great for those who love drag racing, especially the nostalgia cars like the 68 Nova. However the pro style cars in top fuel and funny car are hard to tune to get them down the track. So far my first motor is a 6000 Hp beast that powers my Nova in to the very low 6's (6.236) at 245 MPH.

IT'S ONE OF THE BEST TO DATE..the cars will sway going down the track, can pull the wheels off the ground.the plus for me is the more you know about cars, engines and what they like gives you the extra edge. if you liked the pc version then this game is for you.the only bad spots are the 70' cuda is really a 71' and i would have liked a incar camera.

well i personally love the game. but thats cuz i like to spend an hour setting up a 9,999hp car just to see it it'll break into the 4s. if you want fast gameplay and great graphics, look elsewhere. if your a die-hard racing fanatic, or car tuner, this is a great game. theres a few issues:
issue: a bye-run freezes the game fix: choose 2, 4, 8, or 16 racers, and there will be no bye-run. issue: how the F am i supposed to choose a different car that ive set up??? fix: i have no idea. the instructions refer to menues that are not there. please email me blkmetal18@hotmail.com if you understand the difference between player and setup crap. only thing i can figure out is saving right before an event. ok, so the game has some issues, but it doesnt take away from the fact that you can choose pretty much any engine you can think of, and do pretty much anything to it. theres also a wide range of cars, no FWD, but theres like a 41 willies, 68 nova, 72 chevelle, 98 camaro, pro-mods, dragsters etc. so i drive a cavalier z24 on the street. no cavaliers, but whats that? the 2.4l engine found in my cav? the controls are strange, and theyll take a while to understand. also make sure you go to 'player' and turn all the display guages on. also go to race, rules and go through some. thats where you can change 1/4 to 1/8 or heads-up to bracket. i have yet to understand whats going on in the 'weights' section. great game, but definately not for everyone.

Hmmmm....,

Buy this game if you have alot of patience, because load times are long and this game has a habit of freezing up. You can pick from a number of cars and then totally customize them and build your own engine. You can also make a custom engine and then throw a turbo or supercharger on it. But as far as gameplay goes, well brand new it is [not much money]. That says it all. Any good game will not sell for [that amount] when it is newly released. Would I purchase for [that amount] knowing how the game is? Probally not, I would recommend renting this game, if you can find it for rent. Replay value on this game is pretty low.

For anyone who doesn't know, blue disk would not work on the original PS2s unless you sent for the upgrade kit for your PS2. Later machines were upgraded in the factory to play the blue disk. So if you have any original PS2 that wasn't upgraded you're out for use of blue disk games.

I'm going to say please don't waste your money on this game, it's bad. I love drag racing but this is just pathetic. The game is cheesy and let me say this. If you know nothing about car parts don't play because it's the complicated. I have to install every part. You can play using the selected cars but it's just not fun to play. And it's hard to figure out the controls. I have a headache now.

Wasted money,
By A Customer
This review is from: IHRA Motorsports 2 (Video Game)
This game was by far the worst thing I have spent my money on this whole year. Terrible graphics, you can spend 45 minutes tuning the car, due to the bad instruction manual, all for 4 seconds of racing and then losing. Don't waste your money.
