Sisters Jennifer and Heather Kinley return with a cleverly titled--they're twins--second album that again showcases their canny pop-country blend. Mixing slice-of-life lyrics and dollops of straight-ahead country instrumentation with vocals and backbeats that demonstrate as much familiarity with Bonnie Raitt and the Pretenders as with the Judds, the Kinleys manage to breathe life into material that's occasionally middling at best. The stronger tracks, though, find all the elements coming together to produce small gems such as the dramatic "She Ain't the Girl for You" and the smartly detailed heart song, "When the Blues and My Baby Collide." With the duo's Touched by an Angel contribution, "Somebody's Out There Watching," augmenting the disc's dozen new cuts, II is a safe bet to repeat the gold-record success of their debut. --Rickey Wright

I had listened to the debut release from Heather and Jennifer which really delivered what country music should be all about. It took me a while to finally purchase this second album because I couldn't find it in Wal Mart or any other music stores for that matter. I was lucky to find this title at a good price. Anyway, the album gets a good start with the first track, "She Ain't the Girl For You", which is about a friends pity towards a man who tolerates his girlfriend no matter what he puts her through. I believe it was also a single as well. My other favorite songs on this CD includes "I'm In", which was also a single and recieved a fair amount of airplay on the radio, "Me Too" also has a good country vibe to it. Its about how you can relate to someone who has been through heartaches and disappointments in but it isn't a ballad. "Lovers" is good, funny song with lyrics similar to "She Ain't the Girl For You". The lyric in the song "Lovers" I find hilarious is "In a fit of anger at the horseshoe lounge, she took a swing and she knocked that hussy down." Its about a couple who has alot of problems and "ain't it a wonder, why they call them lovers". One song that should've been a single is "Here". Its a good love song its not fast and it ain't slow but sure is great. The album ends on a good note with "Somebody's Watching Over Me" which was featured on the "Touched By An Angel" soundtrack so you know it delivers a good message of inspiration. You will not regret this purchase. As it says in my title, the Kinleys show no sophomore album jitters. They prove that they still knew what to do after the success of their debut album. So I give this 4 stars!

Where "girl band" country music is concerned, this project is a stand out!!! It is extremely upbeat throughout, with the few slower moments precisely placed. This makes for a great cd to put in the car player and leave for days. Just start it where you left off the previous trip and you'll be incredibly surprised by the variable contexts this cd can emit. Try this one, you won't be disappointed.

The Kinleys spohomore effort starts off strong with tracks like the woman's anthem "She Ain't the Girl for You", the Georgia Middleman penned "I'm In" and "That's Gonna Mess You up", but then trails off to mediocrity like "Yeah, yeah, yeah", "Lovers", and "Me Too".

One other notable song on the disc is "Somebody's Out There Watching", the inspirational song that was also the sisters' contribution to the Touched By An Angel soundtrack.

This CD is filled with a lot of pop sounding music, leaving me to wonder what direction it is the Kinleys are wanting to go with their music.
