About the Artist

Aldo Giuntini's career began at the start of the 80's when he founded CRYIN’ EARTH, a Progressive Rock group who played their own brand of refined and complex music that attracted a dedicated and coherent following. The legendary concert at International Film Studio, attended by some of the most respected progressive music experts, was Giuntini’s farewell to CRYIN’ EARTH. His decision brought him to move into the newly-born Italian Heavy Metal scene. From 1984 to 1987 he mainly concentrated on perfecting his distinctive sound going on to build up a new band called SKY DRIVERS. But soon he realized that the only way to develop his ideas unadulterated was to make his name as a solo artist.

In 1995, Aldo began working on tracks for his new album and in 1996 he approached Tony Martin, the English singer who had branched off after a long spell with BLACK SABBATH. Martin was impressed by Aldo's demos and the two musicians decided to pool their talents.

Giuntini’s second album also got a very ample international recognition and gave Aldo the spotlight he deserved for his music. Finally after another few years of hard work the new GIUNTINI PROJECT album simply entitled "III" hits the market. Winning team should not change, so Aldo called again Tony Martin to handle lead vocals and secured the help of Ezio Secomandi (on drums), Dario Patti (on keyboards) and Fulvio Gaslini (on bass) to achieve the perfect results. And this time he released another gem of classic Hard & Heavy Music which cannot be missed by all traditional rock fans !

4.0 out of 5 stars DITTO May 18, 2012
Format:Audio CD
The band features great metal guitars and loud vocals. Tutmosis IV features a lengthy intro laced with exotic Egyptian sounding licks. The main problem with this group is that too many of the tunes sound too much alike. The lead song, "Gold Digger" showcases the band at it best. For those who like to bang out to the old Metal Blade records, you might try this one out for a change of pace.

From start to finish Guintini Project III, featuring former Black Sabbath vocalist Tony Martin, has all the stuff all rock fans want! Rocking tracks delivering awesome energy, some neat soundscape elements, and not one clunker heard INMOP!. Excellent remix of Anno Mundi(The Vision)(from the Black Sabbath album, "TYR"(1990)/track 1). Just outstanding musicianship all around and Tony Martin's voice sounds superb throughout! Glad I found this release(Amazon/please have samples for all like this one please!). G.P. III is solid, polished, very loud, and offers great sound quality!

Glad I found this rock gem! Tony Martin/Sabbath era, Guintini, & Mollo fans needs to indulge in this/definitely pick this one up ASAP!

4.0 out of 5 stars Melodic hard rock featuring Tony Martin May 11, 2012
Format:Audio CD
Released in 2006, III is (you guessed it) the third release from the Giuntini Project, a solo project put together by Italian guitar virtuoso Aldo Giuntini. Once again, Giuntini is joined by former Black Sabbath vocalist Tony Martin, and once again the pair delivers a very solid melodic hard rock album.

I tend to prefer Tony Martin's work with Giuntini to his work with Dario Mollo on The Cage albums. Giuntini seems to have a bit more metal edge, and tends to be more power rocking and less blues-oriented. There are some great hooks and blistering solos on this album, and of course the vocals are outstanding. Martin is such a consistently excellent (and, sadly, consistently underrated) vocalist, and he's a perfect counterpart to Giuntini's guitar work here. The whole album is really impressive, but the remake of Black Sabbath's "Anno Mundi" is a real treat, since Tyr is one of my favorite albums ever.

This one is kind of a no-brainer. If you liked the previous two Giuntini Project albums, you'll like III as well. And if you're a fan of Tony Martin's previous work in Black Sabbath and/or The Cage, you're going to want to hear this album.
