So much more decorative than the traditional wire racks.

I had it for about 1 year- then it started falling apart and eventually had to be thrown out due to mold.

There were nails showing through splintered slats and bowed under the weight of my hand.

Excellent construction, very well made. Available from Ikea (not on-line) for $4.99, about the same price I paid in 1994. Very strong, held up fine for my heavy stoneware dishes from LL Bean. Left it with my brother when I moved - its replacement (a different make) fell apart within two months. So, back to Ikea! There is a matching cutlery caddy there, too.

I added this to my wish list and received it as a gift just the other day. It is perfect for my usage and just what I expected.
I'm reviewing because I wanted to expand on what another reviewer noted, that this rack is available from IKEA. Actually, this IS the IKEA dishrack. The IKEA sticker was still on the side of it when I received it. I'm not sure how much it costs at IKEA, but if it really is only $5, this is a total rip off.
If I had paid for this myself (and not received as a gift), I'd probably make a stink with the seller for unclear advertising...

I bought this to replace a smaller bamboo rack I got at Bed Bath & Beyond which was very poorly constructed. This is like the ones BB&B used to carry a couple of years ago - but maybe even a tad larger. I put my dishes and silverware in the dishwasher but need this for everything else that gets washed by hand. I have had it about a month and find it to be sturdy and accommodating of all the pots and pans I pile on it. So much more decorative than the traditional wire racks.

Worth the $5.00 you'd pay for it, maybe, at IKEA. Ordering it online, and paying $16.97 + $5.99 for shipping, just plain stupid. I could not believe how badly constructed this item was. There were nails showing through splintered slats and bowed under the weight of my hand. I don't think it would last a week under the normal weight of a dish drying cycle.

Can't review without giving at least one star, if were up to me, this item and experience were worth zero. Though I received this item quickly from the seller, shipping it back and getting credit has been a nightmare. I had to pay out of pocket more then it cost to have it shipped to me. (I did call Amazon and complain, received an $8 credit towards my next purchase) However, trying to get the item credited back to my credit card seems to be an issue. I shipped the item back two days after receiving it, have contacted the seller and a month later still no credit. This was an expensive lesson, I won't be doing business with this seller again.

I ordered this product to replace one I had that I thought was similar but in less than a week it began falling apart. There were staples poking everywhere. I would not recommend that anyone buy this product.

this was a waste of money. construction is so poor that the item began coming apart within days of first use. made from soft (balsa?) wood and single staple "nails" with no head or bend, the slats slide right off of the staple. the main support hinge is also weak. it showed the stress of heavier objects immediately and eventually broke after only a few months of use. ugh!

I bought a dish drainer just like this at IKEA in 2000, 11 years ago! It FINALLY needs replacing. Eleven years for $5? You can't beat that.

I purchased this about a year ago and it held up exceptionally well

I have a cast iron dutch oven (7qt) and that suckers heavy. this dush rack had no problem keeping it together while my heavy pot was drying on it (along with other dishes)

the only problem I have with this rack is that there is no water catch so the water pools up on your counter not a problem if you have a water catcher but if you dont be ware the legs will sit in that water and begin to MOLD (yuck) very rapidly im talking about over night. I think this is because there in no finish on this model it is what I call RAW WOOD

to fix this problem I soaked the legs in bleach and got rid of the mold. then got a drip tray.

I gave this product 4 stars because it is great and held up well but I really feel they should have put some type of finish on it.
