The book's scope is ILE and the ILE aspects of the RPG IV language. So not only will you learn about static binding, service programs, and condition and cancel handlers, but also you will learn specifically how these things are accomplished in the RPG IV language.
I am particularly proud of Chapter 5 where I unravel the mysteries of activation groups. Nowhere else in my investigations have activation groups been adequately explained. Read Chapter 5 and you will understand them and their (sometimes unexpected) side effects. Read the book and you will be well on your way to fully exploiting ILE.

ILE by Example presents more than mere theory. It includes plenty of working examples to illustrate the fundamental aspects of ILE. The CD that accompanies this book contains all but the most trivial of the sample programs. Each source on the CD has explicit instructions regarding its use and any other sources that must be used in conjunction with it.
