The reason for my 1 star review is based on the price and bang for the buck.

To me this is priced way too high for a 40 minute show. Maybe at $10 to $15 this would have gotten 3 stars. I don't think it would deserve 4 or 5 stars no matter what.

Also, the 3D was good, but not as good as others made out. I've heard so much about the shark scene, that when it finally got to it I was disappointed. A shark never seemed to come out of the screen and the shark scene was so short if you went to get a refill on your drink you would have missed it.

There was only one scene where I thought the 3D did a decent job of coming out of the screen. Other than that, I felt that the 3D had good depth, but that was it. I like to have more jump out at you 3D than what was provided on this movie.

Sorry to say that if I could sell it and lose about $5 - $10 on the deal, I would do it.

I chose this movie over Step up 3D which I also heard had great 3D. Now I'm wondering if Step up 3D is better or if people are just so wrong about both???

For someone out there wanting good 3D, here's what I can say based on what I've seen.

Despicible Me - Best 3D I've seen yet in a blu ray movie. A couple of good pop out of the screen scenes and even the title menu has some good 3D effect. Would highly recommend this title.

Tron - A lot of 3D depth, but really not any pop out of the screen 3D. Would skip this title.

Shrek 1-4 - First 3 were redone in 3d. No real pop out at you 3D, but were still enjoyable. The 4th was created in 3D and while better than the first 3, still didn't have any pop out at you 3D. The broomstick ride was really enjoyable though. On the fence about this one, but would say if you enjoy the movies, get it.

Alice in Wonderland - really just 3D depth. No real pop out at you 3D. Would not recommend unless you like the movie. (it's always better in 3D than 2D)

A Christmas Carol - Good Depth, but really not a lot of pop out at you 3D. It's nice to have a Christmas movie to watch in 3D, but I would not recommend unless you like the movie.

Coraline 3D - Good 3D and good Depth. This movie was really enjoyable for the 3D. Not a lot of jump out at you 3D, but would still recommend this movie for its 3D content.

Under the Sea - See review above. Would not recommend unless you're just crazy about ocean life. Picture quality was good and good 3D depth, but way too short for the money.

This is definitely a high quality 3D movie. No ghosting at all and brilliant colors throughout. Jim Carrey does an unexpectedly great job narrating and you see some really amazing shots. A must have for anyone wanting to show off their new 3D toy. Be warned though, it is under an hour long which is not much time, especially for the price. Quality of the film makes it definitely worth it though.

Just plain awesome. I own at least a dozen 3D DVDs now, but this is my go-to for friends who're coming over to watch 3D movies at my place for the first time. It is short, but I've gotten enough use out of it over the past year that I feel it's worth the money. And its short length has enabled a few friends who can't get through full-length 3D movies (because it causes them head or eye pain after too long) to enjoy the effect they normally have to pass on in theaters.

It is a tad ridiculous--the song at the end about 'an octopus's garden' has become the source of an ongoing joke between my sister and I for the sheer absurdity of its lyrics, and the exaggerated sound effects occasionally push the boundary beyond absurd to 'irritating'. But I'm assuming it's supposed to appeal primarily to children, so oh well!

If your looking for a great program to show off your 3D TV...this will do it. Great out of screen 3d in many areas of the film. Vibrant colors. There is one scene where a potatoe cod is so close to your face it honestly feels like hes floating less than an inch from your face in your living room.

This blu-ray single-handedly gave me hope for the awesomeness of 3d pop out! Oh my cod! there is a fish that looks like it will eat you alive! Literally the best 3d effect I have ever seen anywhere! Also Jim Carrey is a surprisingly good narrator and there are a lot of cool pop out effects and amazing depth! Excellent!!!! The only problem with this movie is it will make you wonder why can't every other 3d bluray use this amazingly technology so well.

So I caved and purchased a 55" LG passive 3D at costco for a sweet sale price and now have been hunting for some decent 3D videos to test out the tech. So far I've been very impressed with the few 3D movies we've watched but after seeing this Under the Sea video also for sale at Costco for like 1/2 the price of amazon (I've been watching continually for 3D videos to price drop but seems just have to keep eyes open wherever I go) I went ahead and purchased.

Watched the other night with the family and really enjoyed this short little film. Not only are the colors vibrant and the sea creatures interesting but we found many points in the movie where the 3D effects literally made us all say "woh!" together. It really was an awe moment when one of the larger fish came out from the TV and literally had their face extended out hanging over my feet and legs as I sat in my recliner. I don't know if that is because we're only like 8-10 feet from our tv when we're watching but it was quite amazing. Seriously was about 75% from the tv to us. I know other reviewers say they come out 50% depending on person and setup but just wow. Didn't expect that. We jumped back several parts and paused just to see the effects multiple times.

Definitely will watch the video again and use it as a selling piece to friends and family to see 3D in the home. I can definitely see myself not going to the theater to shell out $$ for overpriced 3D tickets and just wait till they come out on blu-ray.

This is about the 6th movie I have seen on a Mitsibushi 73" Dlp Tv with the Samsung glasses that came with the kit, and I have watched it 3 times in 2 days. This is why I wanted 3D, it's absolutely amazing photography and 3D effects. I wish all the movies I've seen were half this good. I feel like I'm diving with them, and so many of the sea creatures make me want to reach out and touch them. Imax Under The Sea has me as a forever fan !! Thanks to all the people that put this together !!

I own nearly ALL of the IMAX 3D collection and I must say that this particular film is SUPERB! I have watched it three times already and I'll probably be watching it again soon. The 3D is spectacular. You will see within a few minutes of viewing how great the 3D picture is. The narration, color, depth, pacing, EVERYTHING is perfect. The only complaint is that I wish it were longer. However, they are up front about the time from the get go. If you own a 3D television this is a MUST BUY ITEM. Period.

If you love going to aquariums to see the amazing fish & sea life, especially the ones that live around coral reefs...then this movie won't disappoint you. I saw a Leafy Sea Dragon & a Weedy Sea Dragon for the first time in my life a few years ago at the Atlanta Aquarium. They totally amazed me, I never knew anything like that existed. The next time I visited the aquarium, I was disappointed because I couldn't find them. So, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them, in 3D, on this dvd! I shouted out to my family...'Oh, my gosh, a Weedy Sea Dragon!!!' Then a short time later, the Leafy Sea Dragon was on the screen! To see them in their natural habitat was absolutely amazing to me. I was shouting out other things too..'A Nautilus!' 'A Lionfish!' 'There's a Stone fish!' One family member must've jumped 3 or 4 times as an unsuspecting fish would suddenly meet its demise as another would suddenly lunge out & swallow it. I almost forgot to mention the big-eyed seals that were fascinated with the camera...so cute, we couldn't help but say, 'Awwww'

This video is not only filled with incredible sights & beauty, but is informative too. Jim Carrey, the narrator, even throws in a few laughs. Through one of Amazon's deals, I was fortunate enough to purchase this amazing dvd for $17.99.

The 3D is incredible. (Well there are a few times that some of the close-up 3D bothered me; when that happened, I'd look at a scene that was farther back).

If you don't have 3D, this DVD can be watched in 2D also.
