As a mechanic I'd love to have a few more of these for my test gauges but at that price? That's 12 hours work (BEFORE TAXES!). I just can't justify the cost.
For those who aren't familiar with them. They're a push on test fitting that connects to a fitting that's attached to your equipment. You can instantly connect a gauge to a machine to see what the pressure is in the system. Then you can remove it. Both fittings automatically close, preventing the fluids from leaking out.
Tip, If the fitting gets old they can sometimes stick open, allowing fuel or whatever it is in your hose to leak out. When that happens I clean the fitting with contact cleaner then blow it out with air. Then I squeeze a bit of white grease (or lubriplate) into the end of the fitting before sticking it onto another fitting. Push it on and twist it around while holding the sleeve in the release position. Then you can free up the inner mechanism.
