Product Description

From the Manufacturer

The new INCRA Miter 1000HD is the most refined model yet in the Miter 1000 series. The HD stands for High Definition, because the protractor plate's exclusive Angle LOCK Indexing System has a whopping 180 can't-miss angle stops in 1-Degree increments with special stops located at 22-1/2-Degree. Combine that high-resolution protractor with the industry's smoothest adjustable miter bar, a telescoping Incra LOCK Cut-off Fence and Flip Shop Stop and a steel vernier scale that reads to 1/10-Degree and you've got a winner that will improve the quality of any project. Are you cutting parts for segmented turning? The Miter 1000HD will allow you to precisely set and quickly duplicate any angle you might need, whether it's 18-Degree for cutting 10 sides, 25.7-Degree for 7-sided objects or anything else imaginable.

I bought this on sale at $120 which was less than the cost of the lesser equipped 1000SE or buying the miter gauge and fence separately (as suggested by another buyer). While not free, I consider this money well spent if you're like me and do a lot of work that requires precise length and angles. In the past I've always had to cut all the pieces slightly over length and then tweaked them in with a miter trimmer...a technique that works but isn't fast (they're also not giving miter trimmers away). This gauge lets you set up and cut things dead on the first time. Use a quality blade and install a sub-fence per the instructions and the results are neat and ready to glue up in a single pass.

As previous raters have mentioned, everything was set accurately right out of the box. In what seems to be a rare exception these days, the instructions are clear and well illustrated in full color. It was easy to assemble and adjust to my Ridgid table saw. I also like that the kit included all the allen keys, extra measuring tape if you want to set up for use on the right side of the blade, and even the hardware to mount a zero clearance sub-fence.

While I probably wouldn't recommend spending over a hundred bucks if all you're going to be doing is cutting 2x4s to build a picnic table, if you are looking for something that produces highly accurate, repeatable cuts, and is easy to use then you won't be disappointed with this one.

I replaced an old saw that had been fitted with a Jessem sliding table/miter gauge. That wasn't going to work on my new saw, so I decided to go with the Incra miter gauge -- it looks like Jessem has discontinued the miter gauge as a separate product, apart from the sliding table.

I think the Incra does a great job for angle work. But it's not well thought out if your goal is to quickly set accurate stops for cross cutting. The setup works, but basically you're going to want to check it with a tape measure any time you go past the 14 inches of the non-telescoping part and have to telescope. And then, you actually have to slide the tape itself to calibrate, which means that from use to use it will never be the same.

In addition, the stop actualy obscures the tape. The Jessem stop was much better designed -- you could read the tape easily and you didn't have to recalibrate when going from the fixed to the sliding fence (not to mention that it was longer at 48".

I had an Incra miter gauge almost 20 years ago and they really haven't improved the design much. It's hard to believe that an actual woodworker was involved.

But if you're main reason for buying an aftermarket miter gauge is to cut accurate angles, than this is your baby.It has one degree positive locking stops, as well as 22.5 deg stop and vernier for cutting between degrees.

This miter gauge is heaven. I make a lot of picture frames and the accuracy is astounding. If you do not have one you need one for precision miters.

I am using this product on a Bosch 4000 contractor saw, This thing is worth the money. It is very accurate and easy to set up. The only thing negative I have to say about it is on setup, if the fence does not lay flat to the table incra instructs you to shim the fence with paper under the screws you loosen to adj the fence square to the blade. It just seems like a cheesy adjustment for a product that is built for accuracy. However that being said it does work and overall I am very happy with this and highly recommend.

I've only been using this miter on my table saw for a week now. It was very easy to assemble and set up. As one would expect from a high cost item like this, no adjustments to the angles were necessary. All of the angle stops that I checked, from 90 degrees out, were correct out of the box, according to my digital angle finder.

The fence installs with 2 screws to the face of the miter. All of the steel screws seem to be the same, cap head allen bolts. The only exceptions that I can recall, are the flathead screws that adjust the play of the slider and the T-slot retaining clip. A screwdriver handled hex wrench is provided that fits those cap bolts and a standard allen wrench is provided for the slider adjustment screws.

I was able to quickly and easily adjust the slider bar for a no-slop fit to my miter slots. Of course, those bushing will eventually wear out and have to be replaced. Hopefully, they will be relatively long lasting. Replacing them every year or 2 wouldn't be much of a burden.

The stop block and fence have corresponding plastic inserts with teeth, that lock the block into position quite firmly when the locking screws are lightly tightened down.

Personally, I'd have much preferred a simpler stop block and a clamping system over this high priced stop block, for this kit. I now wish that I had just bought the similar miter and fence separately and saved a few bucks. Both are available here on Amazon, INCRA MiterV120 Miter Gauge and INCRA FLIPFNC18-31 Telescoping Flip Fence 18-Inch to 31-Inch for $130.
