Powerful Ultrasonic Cleaner,

This review is from: INDUSTRAL GRADE 160 WATTS 5.29PINTS DIGITAL HEATED ULTRASONIC CLEANER + FREE Cleaning Concentrate Powder Included! (Kitchen)
I purchased this ultrasonic cleaner to clean the gunk out of watches and jewelry. I was looking for something that would be more powerful that the "toys" that are for sale for under $30. I just do not feel that they have the overall horsepower and cleaning ability based upon prior experience. I found this one, and it is quite large and appears to be the most powerful cleaner in its class. I am extremely pleased with the purchase. Rings and watches come out looking literally brand new and fresh from the factory. The only downside is that it is clear that the instructions were not written by a native english writer, so the grammar leaves a bit to the imagination.

I did the research, so it came as no shock that this item worked exactly as advertised. I've enjoyed the ease and speed with which it operates. 180 seconds for most operations; that's just three minutes... amazing.
I will tell you that I tried a test just to see how well it worked. A table spoon that had been used to eat chili the day before and had not been rinsed off. The chili was SOLID. 3 minutes later it was spotless.

I have used a few of this type of product in the past, mainly to clean jewelry, watches, and parts. This ultrasonic cleaner is the best product of its kind I have ever seen, and not just by a little bit. It cleans as well as any jewelers cleaner. Even my jeweler admitted as much. After you examine your newly cleaned jewelery, look into the bottom of the cleaner and you will not believe how muct debris you will see there. You can forget taking jewelry to the shop to be cleaned. This unit will do a better job right in your own home. As a guide to the best jewelry cleaning formula, I will pass on to all who read this evaluation the ingredients given me by the best jewelry manufacturer I know. Use two to four cups of distilled water. Add one-half teaspoon of concentrated dish washing soap and another half teaspoon of pure ammonia. Mix well before turning on the cleaner. I found 360 seconds to be the best time for cleaning jewelry and watches. Try it. You will not believe the results.

Great for cleaning cartridge cases for reloading ammo. Tried is on jewelry first and it does work! Cases come clean on the inside but it takes a few cycles. Need to work on a proper cleaning mixture though. Excellent for the price.

Great Product That Really Works!!!
Be careful with your jewelry that has glued in stones because it will un-glue them for you. Had that issue with my black onyx diamond ring, Had to re glue the stone back in no real big deal just glad it fell out while cleaning and not while wearing. This bad boy is 160 watts and really works. My glasses are like brand new looking took all the dirt and oil off of them, that alone makes me extremely happy with this unit. I use this unit then empty the cleaner into a storage bottle and rinse clean for the next task. You really can clean most anything with it and won't be disappointed. Buy with confidence. RagenRat

I bought this to clean fine jewelry that I sometimes buy from eBay, I figured the jewelry store uses a similar machine when I take them in for cleaning so why not do it myself. I also didn't want to use chemicals.
You can use this for more than jewelry. I've used it for sunglasses also. The manual states it can also be used for silverware, other metal objects, car parts? and more. This unit has heat and a slightly higher heat temperature than others which is great for removing oils and gunk. It also has a higher cleaning power than the other ones in a comparable compact size. The steel tub inside is much better quality and much larger than others I browsed. It also has a plastic tray liner to put your items on before putting them in the cleaner and for easier removal, however that gets tricky when the water is at 149 degrees so I have to lift one side out with a plastic fork so I don't get burned. For better cleaning you can purchase an ultra sonic cleaning agent which are really pricey for the amount you get. It says you can use just water, if you're going to do that then definitely use the heat setting. It didn't perform that great for me with just water. The seller suggested I use dish-washing soap, I wouldn't try to use anything with lemon though as it may cause damage to some metals over time. I used regular Palmolive dish soap and the results were very good. The manual is in very broken English and might be a little work to understand at first. It doesnt really say what to expect other than "many tiny bubbles are created when ultrasonic sound is passed through liquid"... so at first I wasn't sure it was even cleaning or working right because all you hear is a buzzing sound and see slight vibrations, but that's the ultra sound working. Nothing dramatic when you're watching. Draw-backs, if you consider them to be that are you must remove the water and dry the tank after every use, and (something like) if you use if for 3 cycles in a row, or more than 5 minutes of cleaning at one time, you should let it rest for 20 or so minutes. It's supposed to lengthen the life of the item, which makes me wonder how long they really last? Also, the using a plastic fork for the tray is not ideal. The rest of the specifications and features on the product page are pretty much accurate. Purchased on dec 23 2009 for a dime under eighty eight bucks plus shipping, came out to a dime under a hundred bucks including shipping. Overall I think this unit is great for cleaning jewelry and getting the dirt and oils out from the fine areas that are hard to get too. I also added an extra soft bristle children's tooth brush and purchased a jewelry polishing cloth on amazon and with the combination of all I can do just as good or better than the jewelry store in regards to cleaning.

I could not have been happier with this product and we have found many uses for it too. The cleaner itself is well built, and a little larger than I expected but not too big to work with easily. It does an excellent job cleaning jewelry and old coins, you can use hot water or buy a cleaning solution and it seems to work well with either one. The front timer is easy to read and use, I would like to have found it a little cheaper but overall I am very pleased with this product.

First, it seems to work fine though I have nothing to compare it to. There are, however two small issues. First, as noted in another review, no cleaning powder is included. Second, the listing specifies a codyson CD-4820 but what I got was a Bogue BJC-1164. The description in the manual matches the description in the listing and also from the codyson web site for the CD-4820. It's probably just re-branded but I was initially shocked, thinking they had sent the wrong machine.

I bought this product to assist in cleaning my airbrush equipment between uses. I have not had an opportunity to try them out yet, but I did use it to clean some jewelry and sunglasses that were fairly old and dirty with oils and gunk on them.
I used hot water from my instant hot water source which is plenty warm. The glasses and jewelry went through (3) 480 seconds cycle to get completely clean in plain water. Later, the use of dish washing soap cleaned the glasses quicker. The first 3-cycle cleaning resulted in clumps of stuff cleaned out of the glasses edges but the water was fairly clear. The second 3-cycle cleaning with detergent added resulted in more clumps but the water was noticeably cloudier. At the end of the 6-cycle test, the water was as hot (or hotter) than what I initially dumped into it. The nice thing with this unit is that there is a fan that draws hot air from the transducer, which some other units in the market does not seem to have. The plastic tray that comes with the unit has really small ears whereby you will touch the cleaning solution if you intent to use the tray to lift your material in and out of the tub. The true test will be using it to clean the minute pins and collars on the airbrushes, but at the first attempts, the system works well. I considered other brands/makes, but this was the size I required. For heavier duty cleaning, go with a professional unit. I've had the opportunity to use one of those and they clean instantly (relative to home use models) but these units are at least 4 to 6 times the price of these slower light duty use. BTW, the seller had sent the cleaning powder in a later shipment, in the effort to correct the initial shipment of the unit that didn't come with the powder. I was unable to try it out to see the potential benefit of a cleaning solution. Lastly, I didn't read the instruction manual, as there are four buttons where 1 is heat, the other two is on/off and lastly is a timer set. If you want to read the manual, however, its translated poorly.

Good value,

It is rated at 160 watts. That is the power consumption, not power output. Other than that bit of misleading info, it seems to be as advertised. I cant find it in the instructions, but I thought I read the output was 65 watts. Dont hold me to that though. I think it was on the box which has been gone for weeks now.
I bought it for cleaning gun parts, and for that it is great. It is big enough to hold a 1911 or a four inch revolver (vertically) with no problems. Larger that that you might have to do one part, then the other. I use regular dish soap and it will remove all but the toughest powder residue. I soak the parts in "Ed's red" for a while, wipe the loosened stuff off, then put them in the ultrasonic for about 5 mins. A quick dip back in the Ed's red, and let drip. Most times, thats all you need. I put guns I thought were clean in there and they still left chunks at the bottom of the tank. No signs of damage to bluing or polymer parts either. I have also used it to clean jewellery, and it does a good job on that too. I have cleaned gold, silver and even the cheap stuff in this thing and it always makes it shine. There was one thing it wouldn't completely clean. It was a silver bracelet with a lot of tarnish. You can experiment with different cleaning agents too. The stuff they send looks like powdered dishwasher soap. I tried liquid dishwasher soap, didnt do much. Liquid dish soap worked good for greasy stuff. I filled it with "Ed's red" once. Messy but effective. In all, a versatile machine for home use. A lot cheaper than most, but still works well. I have no regrets.. |
