Great Book! It is a science fiction with some mix of future prophesy from the Bible. You would like to finish in one sitting. I bought this book sometime ago but since I dont know James Somers, I had it in sitting my kindle, I started reading it over the holiday and I realized that it was a very good book and I could not put it down.
The development of the story is very good, suspense but not too slow.

I will definitely buy more of James book.

It is an end-times saga, but reads more like a spy thriller. I both enjoyed reading the book, and approved of the limitted scriptural interpretation.
This was my first James Somers book; now I will go buy the rest of them.

This novel somehow found its way into print without benefit of an edit. Don't let that deter you, although overflowing with grammatical mistakes and punctuation errors, Perdition's Gate has a refreshing absence of plot. It seems to have been written by a committee of bored Bible college sophomores on hallucinogenic mushrooms. Yikes, Amazon, what were you thinking to offer this for sale?

Any book with an 'End Times' theme will inevitably be compared with the Left Behind series. I recently read LB book 1, and I have to say I'm impressed with Somers' originality with Inferno's plot. It takes place much later than other books in the genre, for instance, and technology yet to be developed figures prominently in the story.

For the first 50 pages or so it appeared to me that the author was an outsider, a non-Christian, who found the Christian end times prophecies intriguing and worth entertaining as an exercise in creativity, not to be confused with advocacy or belief.

The emphasis on action and spy-thriller trappings bothered me a bit, but I have to give props for creativity, good characters, and a plot that supplies context for the fulfillment of the requisite end time prophecies. The dialogue includes some brief but well conceived discussions on a number of Christian themes. I also appreciate his nod to Asimov, sci-fi nerd that I am.

I docked a star for the above-mentioned spy thriller violence/emphasis and for too many usage, grammatical, and other mechanical issues.

I could live with the poor editing. But the shallow, utterly unconvincing apologetics and stilted writing made this a true waste of money.

This is writing at its worst and I finally gave up halfway through the book. I kept hanging in there until I felt I had enough trying to overlook the inexcusable grammatical errors and razor thin plodding plot. In one chapter alone, the author uses the word "there", when the possessive "their" is called for. He makes this mistake more than once. Other style and grammatical errors abound.

How this book made the cut without apparent proofreading is beyond me. Don't waste your time with this loser. "A World Within" by Mr. Somers is a much better read, though it leaves you hanging for the sequel.

This is the first war book I have ever read and I to say I enjoyed it. My favorite was having the references so I could read more information on what is going on.
I will say the reason it got a four and not a five may be due to my ignorance. This is the first time I read a book like this so it seemed a little harder to stay intrigued than I normally do.

I love the writing in this one, the characters are good. The clones are getting old. And as I said in my review of Hallowed, When is Jesus taking center stage, He is the main reason we look to Christian authors for more, We want Him glorified, not just His vessels. Jesus needs more credit, and man less..
