1.0 out of 5 stars Last update disaster January 13, 2013
Verified Purchase
Over the last few days my battery level was dropping like a stone and my data usage was going through the roof. I drove for almost two hours with the phone plugged in and the battery level only went up 5%.

I finally looked at the battery usage and found Inrix #1 and the display #2. I hadn't launched Inrix since I powered on the phone so it launched itself on bootup. I also noticed a lot of data usage and I hadn't done anything except received text emails.

If I can't control it and the battery barely made it through the day it's not worth having it since I can use Google maps for traffic when I need to.

Pass on Inrix until they fix it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shows delays before the news! November 28, 2011
Verified Purchase
I installed this because I was stuck in traffic for 45 minutes and the radio was not telling me anything..."all clear on the outbound toll road" they said. I used this app to quickly see where the delay started. Without the app I would have gotten off at the exit where everyone else was fighting to get off, and I would have been stuck in THAT mess for another hour when the delay was only right past that exit.

It would help if it had more details about what lane the delay is in, but maybe it just didn't do that for the road I was on. For a free app, it was well worth the download.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great, when it works. January 12, 2012
By J. Dunn

Inrix is the best traffic info for Los Angeles and Orange County, hands down. Even better than The only issue I've ever had with it is that sometimes it just doesn't feel like loading. This has been a problem since I first started using it in early 2011, and has never quite gone away. The program will load with just a grid and no map, or with a map but no traffic info. Waiting doesn't help. Closing and restarting the program doesn't help. When that happens, maybe once a month or so, I know it's just going to be useless for that particular commute and I'm on my own.

Usually, when the map refuses to load one day, the next day there's an update available. It's hard to tell whether the update was released to fix the bug from the day before, or if the bug the day before was caused by the programmers monkeying with the system while they prepared it for the update. If it's the former, then the system is a little buggy but their programmers do a pretty good job of fixing it when it gets screwy. If it's the latter, then the system is good and the developers really need to figure out a way to come up with new updates without screwing up the service.

Anyway, it's a great app (especially considering that it's FREE!) and a must for LA commuters. I highly recommend it.

1.0 out of 5 stars 1.5gb of data in 5 days? June 25, 2013
Verified Purchase
I literally used this for 90 minutes each day for 5 days. After I began receiving warning messages about high data usage I reviewed my applications and noticed that this thing consumed 1.5gb of data over that amount of time while running in the foreground. Is this thing downloading map tiles for the entire planet? What gives? Uninstalled immediately...

3.0 out of 5 stars Must be in a big city to be useful. December 28, 2011
Verified Purchase
This app looks very promising. Unfortunately I think it only sources it's data from Total Traffic Network which means that you have to be in a large city for it to be useful. Sadly I live in Minneapolis, and while some people might consider it a big city it's no New York or LA. Therefore, the roads that actually show traffic information are very minimial. I guess I'll go back to google maps as that records information from drivers who have google maps running to give better road coverage.

4.0 out of 5 stars a must have app if traveling or a trucker May 7, 2012
This is a must have if you our a trucker or someone that travels quite a bit. I used this pretty extensively throughout the year 2011 and it saved me some headaches. You can zoom in & out on this program to know what you might be getting into. Its also nice because you can get police radar reports from other seems to be a battery sucker on my EVO, but as long as i'm plugged into the charger all is good. Its was nice for me going through the Chicagoland area,St louis & Nashville. I highly recommend this program.

3.0 out of 5 stars No tablet support. Busy roads not covered
Good on my phone. But, they refuse to allow use by tablets. Also, many busy roads do not show information. Google search and traffic is better.
