I bought this because I live in a rental place thinking I wouldnt need to drill or screw anything into the doorwall because the product states "Simple to install NO TOOLS !. Well to my surprise thats the first thing they ask you to do. The screen itself does not line up with the door they say it fits any door up to 36 inches and my door measured 35 inches. I measured it purposely to make sure it would fit before purchasing it. The gaps that remain around the door would let every insect in bringing me to the third misleading thing about this product. "It keeps out insects and other pests". Pretty hard to hold up to that claim when you have gaps all the way around the door. Very misleading represenation of this product. Save yourself the hassle and go with something different.

Solves My Bug Problem,

I live in a condo, where I am not allowed to install a permanent screen door. That left me with no way to get a evening breeze through the house without leaving the front door wide open and allowing the bugs into my home. When I saw these in 2004 I purchased two, as I thought for the price--I paid $4.99 at the time--they would not last long. I am still using the first one! Mine came with velcro on the entire length of the hinge side of the door, which works fine even when I go in and out. Others are correct that the instructions indicate that you should screw the provided hooks into the jamb on the knob side to keep the door closed. However, I have been using a length of double sided velcro to close from the handle to my inside door jamb. I have a sliding security lock with a brass loop on the inside jamb (slides from door through loop on jamb when door closed)--I simply loop the velcro length through and flip back to reverse side. This keeps the door closed and is easy to go through if needed. I also have found that with a little bit of practice, putting it up has become quite easy.
I use only in the evenings when there's little traffic through the door, so I understand why other might indicate that opening and closing can be difficult, especially if you use the two provided hooks. Also, folding it up isn't easy. So I just keep it leaning against the wall behind the door. I only fold it in the fall when the weather cools. It allows me to get a great breeze through the house without the bugs on all but the hottest days, saving me from using the AC!

Its not worth buying. The corners of the screen that is not velcro dont stay put. I had a get together at my house and every outside bug was in my house. I am still not able to kill all of the bugs. Find another option besides this one because it doesnt keep the bugs out.

I just got this in today and I am returning it tomarrow. It is very flimsy and the corners stick out and don't stay flush against the door. It is $12 something for it and the shipping is like $8 something. I learned my lesson. You can go to lowes or homedepot for a wooeden screen door for like $20. Or metal frame for $30.

I was interested in this product because I live in a apartment with no patio and it doesn't get enough sun in the living room. I do have a door that opens up directly outside and I contemplated getting a "real screen door" but I am on a tight budget and also didn't want something the landlord could take objection to (and screw me out of a deposit) so I was googling screen doors and stumbled upon this. The price was low enough that I could risk trying it.
Someone said theirs didn't come with instructions but mine did and it was pretty simple to figure out: simply a strip of self adhesive velcro is placed on the outside of the door and the mesh fabric door with the match velcro on one side sticks to it. You install the two little screw hooks on the inside of the doorway to keep the door closed ( by the way of little fabric loops). The door was big enough to cover my door way - it didn't fit perfectly, it is about an inch too taller at the top but that's okay.) Now I get a nice breeze with no bugs coming in and much more light in my apartment,(I can save on the light bill by not having to turn on 2 or three lights in the day time!) It looks a little low budget because it is- it's just mesh and velcro and wire but for me it worked out more than adequate especially for the 8 dollars I paid for it.

I know a lot of people have been giving this door some bad reviews, but that's because they were obviously looking for something that was more heavy-duty. This door is by NO MEANS heavy-duty, but it does the exact job I expected and wanted it to. I live in middle unit townhouse, so I only have a few windows that are all on the same side of my house. I have little to NO airflow!! It's been getting hot lately and I only have one medium sized window in my living room. But, when I open the front door, it lets in a LOT of light and a LOT more air!! Without the door, though, I get bugs. (I live in MN, so we have a lot of bees and mosquitoes).
The door arrived very quickly! It came with a long velcro strip to attach to the door frame. I will admit, the velcro piece wasn't super sticky, so I decided to super glue it to the frame! (I don't know if I was supposed to do that, seeing as I rent my townhouse, but I don't care.....he he). So, after I superglued the strip and let it dry for maybe 5 minutes, I attached the door and VOILA! It doesn't fit my door perfectly, but the frame is kind of bendy, so I make it fit the way I need it to. Instead of taking it down and putting it up, I just leave it up all the time. There's a little handle and I just took one of those 3M Command Strip that's a hook shape and I stuck it inside the door frame (but still outside) and I can hook the little handle on that so my door doesn't flap in the wind! Yeah, it's a cheap door and it won't last forever, but it serves it's purpose and it doesn't look terrible, either. I actually have a lot of people saying, "Hey, that's cool! Where did you get that?" It's a nice alternative when you don't want to spend the money or time with a bigger, better door. All in all, great experience!

The product is not exactly what the picture looks like. The product is more consistent with those pop up mesh laundry baskets, the screen is not as see through as the picture and the frame is not a solid piece as the picture shows.
This was a good temporary screen door, it allowed me to keep the door open and most bugs out but I had to tape it to the door frame. Over all I would say this is a good product but don't expect it to work the same as the picture shows.

The screen came bent so when I put it up the screen wouldn't stay straight or flat. It curled up on one side. After manipulating the wire edge, it did straighten out a little bit. I purchased this because I live in an apartment and cannot install a real screen door. I love to cook so I need the front door open and to circulate the air. However, that also means bugs and flies come in too. The instant screen served it's purpose of keeping the bugs out. You can easily take it down and put it away since it's not very eye pleasing.

I thought the new design for the instant screen door would be an improvement. My las one was a hanging screen and it curled, letting in the bugs. This one was only slightly improved. The support pieces that are located near the handle do ot stay in place, therefore, it does not close all the time!!!! As the time goes on, the brace comes off more and more. Maybe I should glue it in place!!!!!!INSTANT POP UP SCREEN DOOR
