I will be buying a second one shortly for another project.
Bill
The patch panel looks great, and has a large mounting bracket that allows all the cables to enter from behind neatly.

This product worked totally as planned and was an easy install.

I purchased the Intellinet 162470 patch panel for the remodel of my home. I have several Cat 5 runs and wanted to keep them organized. To my dismay, two of the twelve ports were bad when the panel was installed.

The front is the same but the punch downs are different than pictured. It splits the pairs on top and bottom instead of all the pairs punched down in the same row (like in the picture). Blue and Brown punch down on top. Orange and Green punch down on bottom. I would think this creates unneeded stress on the cable since they are split apart like that. It will also make it harder to feed cable in the built in cable management hooks in the back.

This is not what I wanted.

I recently bought this item for patching 9 ethernet lines I ran in my home. I have no complaints about the product thus far, but a few notes. One reviewer noted that the item received was not the same as pictured in terms of how the wires are connected on the back, and that is consistent with my product. In my case this did not bother me, but if it matters to you be aware. Specifically the picture of the item shows all 8 wire mounts per cable being in a row next to each other. On the product I received, like the other reviewer noted, each cable has 4 wires attach on one side and 4 across on the other side. Though I'm a novice at this I can't see how it would have made a difference in organizing the cables for me. Also, make sure to note that if you plan to use the wall mount bracket and you run cables into the middle of the device to access the wire ports near the middle, *you must have the plastic bracket attached before you attach those wires, or run them through it, otherwise you can't attach it! Cables going in from the top or bottom or not a problem, but in the middle the plastic bracket forms a loop. In my case I was able to cut one side of the bracket apart to allow the cables I'd already wired to pass through the bracket. The bracket still attached securely to the wall, the wires seem to punch down very securely and the jacks on the front seem to be well made and function properly.

Good quality product. Quite cheap compared to what I had bought earlier from local store. And I didn't find any significant difference between this and the more expensive patch panel I bought from local store.

I was hesitant to purchase because of the reviews stating some ports did not work. After punching and testing the ports, all work just fine. In fact, this unit uses the same ports as the 24 port rack mount version which is highly rated. Overall, I would recommend this product. It's sturdy when mounted to the wall and functions properly.

Great block to use for the home or small office. Supports multiple wiring standards and is easy to mount, remove for re-patching or expansion. Much less expensive than the "home hardware" alternatives and a better product overall.

I bought this device, a punch down tool, and some short patch cables. The purpose was to wire up my house for Gigabit Ethernet. This device just plain works. The hardest part was figuring out which wiring method (586a vs 586b) to use. My house had been pre-wired with Cat 5a Ethernet. A visual inspection of the wiring of one of the jacks confirmed it was 586a. The rest was just a few hours of punching down the wires, tying the cables down, mounting the patch panel, and finally connecting the ports to a switch. Very pleased with the results and the price.

This was perfect. Our house had existing CAT5 connections in all the rooms, but it was wired for a telephone system in the master bedroom closet. I swapped it out and punched these wires onto this. Now we have hardwired blazing fast speeds in any room we need it where wireless won't cut it. I was about to mount this in the structured wiring cabinet that our house has and the door still closes.
