It may be...perfect.,
This review is from: IOGEAR 3-Port USB 2.0 Mobile Hub GUH276 (Black) (Personal Computers)
Check out the other available multi-usb hubs. Many of them require that you plug them in to an electrical outlet. This one: no need to plug it into the wall. But there is another problem with most of them; you have push/pull the usb device into the port. The ports are almost always designed so you have to push/pull horizontally. So, as you push/pull, the unit will slide. You have to brace it with one hand while you push/pull with the other. I was looking for one where the pressure was vertical, and this one is. I press it down "into the table" so no bracing needed. Of course, to retrieve the usb device you do need to brace it. Here is a list of things I like about this hub: ' No need for electricity ' I always struggle to figure out which way to plug usb devices in because some genius somewhere decided that everything should be black. Black on black with more black which means that it's impossible to see unless you use a flashlight. The little plastic tabs inside these hubs- the one that lets you know which way to plug it in- those tabs are white. Super easy. ' It has an additional "Mini-B" connector which fits most cameras. 'It's cheap 'It's highly portable. It plugs into any of your usb ports, front or back, but it's cord is only like, what, 3" or so. So for my home PC I have a cheap-o usb cord extender that allows me to place it anywhere on the desk and still have it reach to whatever port. Then, on the road, with my netbook, throw it in the bag, its small (smaller than most mice), lightweight, and no extra extender cord needed because netbook/laptop distances are nil. ' it has four rubber non-slip dots on the bottom which keeps it from sliding as you plug it in. All in all, great price, super convenient, cool looking and functional.

Exactly what I wanted,

The hub is sleek, compact, inexpensive...it needs no AC adapter and it has the USB ports facing up. This is exactly what I've been looking for. The fact that I can charge my headset as well is definitely a plus. Most hubs I had been looking at were clunky or expensive. It works great and does exactly what I need it to do.

I bought this USB hub to make it more convenient to plug my laptop computer into a full-size keyboard, mouse, and external USB hard drive at my office. I wanted a small unit so I could use it for travel as well. It serves both these functions well. Speed is as expected. Very good price.

This IOGear 3-port hub is an excellent value. The cords retract into the hub, making it very nice to transport. The hub is very compact, well-made, and reliable.

This product works well and is simple and easy. My only criticism, and it probably lists this in the details and I overlooked it, is that I wish the male usb plug end had a longer cord... it has to sit very close to the port which is a crowded spot (I have a macbook and all of the ports are on the left-side next to eachother. So, in terms of creating 2 additional USB ports it does the job, but jam it in just a few inches from my external speaker cord, external monitor mini-hd cable, the power cord and a plug in the other USB port, and the area is pretty messy.

My company laptop only has 2 USB ports and this was the perfect solution. I now have plenty of ports and everything fits. The hub sits flat and you can push straight down to insert a USB. Every laptop should have this!

It was a good idea but I wasn't able to use data on my phone through the cable. (I did have a mini to micro attachment, but supposedly the data was supposed to work through that attachment). I haven't used this thing as much as I thought, but it sits in my computer bag waiting... Nice that it's compact and I'm sure I would be thrilled with it if I had more use for it.

The 3 port IOGear USB hub works fine for me for connecting my scanner and PDA to the same USB port.

This is the best unpowered USB hub,
This review is from: IOGEAR 3-Port USB 2.0 Mobile Hub GUH276 (Black) (Personal Computers)
I have a laptop that has only 2 USB ports on it. Not only that, but the ports are too close to each other. I have a USB flash drive that will block the other port when I plug it in. So really it's like my laptop has only one usable USB port. So I decided to look for a small unpowered USB hub (an unpowered one would be better for a laptop than a powered one).I looked through over 10 pages of search results for USB hubs. Many of the unpowered ones have ports that are right next to each other, so I eliminated those since some of the ports would be wasted (that's the reason I'm looking for a hub - the 2 on my laptop are too close together, so I don't want the same problem on a hub). Then I found some unpowered hubs that are square shaped, with one USB port on each side. Those are better since it's impossible for one USB plug to block another port. But then they aren't really compact, since if you were to have USB cables shooting out from all 4 sides, it would end up taking a lot of space. So I decided on this IOGear GUH276 hub. It's small, and it has 3 USB ports on top, with enough space between each one so that one USB plug will not block another port. And since the 3 USB ports are all on top, it won't take up a lot of space by having USB cables shooting out from different directions like the square-shaped USB hubs I mentioned earlier. I give this 4 stars instead of 5 because it has 3 of the standard USB-A plugs on top, plus a mini-B cable. I would have preferred if they just put 4 standard USB-A ports on top and not included a mini-B cable. I don't have any use for the mini-B cable, although I found a mini-B to USB-A adapter so I can plug a standard USB cable into it. Also, the cable for the hub to plug into your computer is a bit short, but I found a small USB extension cable for that. So I've got an extension cable coming out of the laptop, plugged into the hub, which has a mini-B to USB-A adapter on the other end. Not too pretty, but still doesn't take up much space. I have a mouse plugged in plus a couple of flash drives and it's working fine.

It works. I've not had any issues with it. I like the small size. I also like the brand. They seem to always make working products.
