IOGear GCS1808 8-Port USB PS/2 Combo KVMP Switch, the GCS1808 KVM is a combo switch allowing access and control of up to 64 computers from a single console (keyboard, mouse, and monitor). As many as 8 additional switches can be cascaded (Cascade compatible with GCS1716 for control over 128 computers) bringing the total number of connected computers to 64 computers that can be controlled from a single keyboard-monitor-mouse console. A custom ASIC (patent pending) provides an auto-sensing function that recognizes the position of each station on the installation, eliminating the need to manually set the position with DIP switches. Additionally, the GCS1808 features high density SPHD 15-pin instead of the usual 25-pin connectors thus allowing for a compact design and installation in a 1U system rack. The GCS1808 includes one USB port located on the front panel for easy access and sharing of any USB peripherals. Setup is fast and easy; plugging cables into their appropriate ports is all that is needed. The switch supports both USB and PS/2 connections for the console and computers. The GCS1808 intercepts keyboard input directly, thus eliminating the need for any software configuration. Switching between computers can be easily accomplished either by manually pressing the front panel push button port LEDs, entering hotkey combinations from the keyboard, or via a menu driven multilingual on-screen display (OSD) system. First, the product itself is exactly what I needed and functions well. My reasoning for giving it three stars is that it did not include six of the USB KVM cables. I would have returned it but shipping from Amazon on this product is now 1 to 2 months out which just doesn't fit with the needed timeline. I could purchase it from another vender but the additional cost of the product and shipping would be more than if I just buy six more KVM cables. I'm an avid Amazon customer and am disappointed in the quality control on this product being that I've had such excellent results in the past. I hope this is an anomoly and not a new trend.

For what I need this KVM to do (connect 8 servers) it does a fantastic job!

I do wish I could switch between computers by using SCROLL Lock-SCROLL Lock + Device number, it makes you use the arrow keys to select which computer you want to switch to. Very minor gripe.

I have both USB and PS2 connections with this unit and it has worked flawlessly 100% of the time.

Fantastic product.

This KWM switch arrived today, but it not only contained the wrong number of cables (only 4 instead of 8), but it contained PS/2 cables instead of the USB cables that were advertised in both the text and photos of the product. Something is clearly wrong at Amazon since I'm the 2nd person to experience the same problem with this specific product.
