I asked ioGear what was the difference between the IOGEAR USB 2.1 Bluetooth Micro Adapter (GBU421), the IOGEAR Bluetooth USB 2.1 Micro Adapter with Tri-language Package (GBU421W6) and the IOGEAR USB 2.1 Bluetooth Micro Adapter (GBU421WM)
Answer: They are all the same device.
The GBU421WM is a Walmart version of the device.
The GBU421W6 has 3 different language support.
I've been using mine for a year for laptop audio, VOIP, transfering files between my laptop and my Blackberry 9730 without a problem. I just ordered a replacement. Unadvertised feature: They can cushion a Dell laptop falling 36 inches from a desk onto a concrete floor.

Got this last week after reading some reviews about how the new updated drivers make it easy to set this up on windows 7 64bit. It definitely was not a walk in the park for me.

I starting off by installing the downloaded drivers from IOGear's website (avoided the drivers that were included with the adapter). Installation was a breeze, and after a reboot, I was ready to pair my sony bluetooth headphones (MW600). I put the MW600 in discover-able mode, and started the pairing process from my PC. the PC immediately detected the MW600, and gave me an option to pair with the same.

This is where my problems started. Whatever I did, I was unable to make it pair with the headphones. I kept getting the unknown error code, 0x800004005. I looked up the issue on various forums, tried different things including re-installing the drivers, completely removing the drivers and using Windows auto detect to find the drivers, but nothing seemed to work.

Then, I tried to set this up on my laptop that was running Windows 7 32bit. But this time, I refrained from installing any drivers, and let windows do its things to find the correct drivers. It did find the required drivers, and once all the drivers were installed, I was able to connect the headphones without any issues.

This led me to believe that the issue I'm having might be due to one of two things - Either the adapter doesn't work with the 64bit windows, or the OIGear drivers I installed messed something up.

Finally, I was able to make it connect after uninstalling all the old drivers, and install drivers downloaded directly from Broadcom([...]). I also had to switch the adapter to a different usb port.

I ordered one of these to go with my Tenqa bluetooth headset/headphones. I get impressive audio for the price. I have tested this at 30 feet, through a door in a typical home and still get signal which is the one thing I was worried about. Also I am able to use this very easily in my Windows 7 32/64 bit machines so don't worry about compatibility there, just install WIDCOMM from broadcom and it'll work great. I have been using this for over a month and it works great.

Back in "Ancient Times", say 5 years ago, premium laptops came with Bluetooth as part of their program. (Both my Vaio's have it). But, with the advent of the tablet and smart phone, I've noticed that PC manufacturer's are dropping Bluetooth (along with disk readers) to drop prices and also defer to the ever-growing tablet/smart phone market. So, my new bargain basement laptop that I picked up at Walmart (Dell, which works incredibly well for $259.00!!!) had no Bluetooth to hook up to my Bose Soundwave speaker.

Enter this little gizmo, which is another version of one I had bought previously for our desk top computer. VERY easy to install via the disk reader and had ZERO problems hooking this up to both the speaker and my Samsung Galaxy Tablet. I've since bought 2 more, to give as small gifts to friends who needed Bluetooth on their computers but didn't know "how" to add it. I have three USB ports on my Dell so I just leave this dongle in permanently. It can be removed but because of it's tight fit and small size, it's a wee bit hard to remove it. So, in it stays; bonus is, you can't lose it if it stays plugged into your computer. :)

Packaging was professional and good; free shipping came in 3 days time. GREAT product for the money. :)

I have windows 7 Ultimate 64. I installed the drivers which came with the device, but when I clicked on the bluetooth icon in the system tray to start the pairing process the icon just disappeared. So I downloaded the latest driver from iogear website for the device but had the same problem. Then I chatted with iogear tech support and they advice me to use drivers from another Bluetooth device, that didn't work either.

May work for you, but didn't work for me.

Update, I finally got the adapter to work. I updated my review from 1 to 4 stars. I reinstatement the original drivers and it started working. I don't know what I did to make this happen but I think you may have to run setup as admin. The adapter is super compact and it connects my Bluetooth headset in a snap.
