Customer Reviews

My only complaint is the cord is too short.

The SD slot doesn't work unless you have connected both USB jacks, for enough power I guess, on two USB ports available.

The shortcomings of this product are so severe, i don't even know how a company could release this piece of junk.

I wanted a card reader with additional USB ports and this product was just what I was looking for.

+ It is small

- The USB cable provided is too short to be of much use (hence the 4 stars).

I am using this unpowered so the 3 usb ports on the device are available for me to use. If I needed this device to be powered I would have to use the Y-splitter part of the USB cable to connect it to 2 usb ports on my PC (just as I would expect from any other un-powered usb device). I am quite happy not to have to find space in my power strip for yet another plug frankly!

In summary, it works well so far - it's inexpensive - the only issue is the length of the USB cable provided.

Not as bad as others' comments, I feel the card reader works just fine. While the length of the cable might be troubling to desktop computer users, but for most laptop users there should be no problem at all.

Nothing special about it, it works as mentioned, btw I use surface pro and this device needs to attach 2 usb heads to your computer for optimal performance and I only have one usb port, but it works fine with single port too

Since the MacBook Air has only 1 USB port, I needed a hub for my simultaneous use of various devices (wireless mouse + flash drive + portable hard drive). So far so good (after 2 months of use).
Warning: It can get quite slow when transferring data from flash drive to hard drive and vise-versa. It was much faster to stick the HD directly to the USB port, move the data to the desktop; then remove the HD and stick in the flash drive and move the data from desktop to flash drive. A bit of a hassle, but this isn't done often anyway.

The capability to read most formats of memory cards is a big plus for me (esp the CF reader, which is harder to find these days).

I wish I had read all the reviews carefully. I wouldn't have purchased this. I'd like to meet the mental giant that decided it'd be a good idea to save a few cents by making the usb cable so short. If you plug it into a laptop it will be okay, but if you have a desktop on the floor, the cable is not long enough to reach the desktop - not even close. Also, the usb cable is a Y connector with two ends that they recommend you plug into your computer - so you're using up two usb ports to add three - a net gain of one.

This hub is one of the best I have bought for my customers. I myself got one for me, and it Works perfect. Nevertheless, anybody should have in mind that this peripherals loose strenght signal and some devices are not recognized by the system.

One by one the ports died. First one USB. Then another. Then the SD card. Now only one of the USB ports works -- occasionally -- on the whole thing. Pointless.
