4.0 out of 5 stars IOGEAR GearJuice Mobile Pocket Power Pack
The power pack works very well but did not come with a tip for the IPOD. It comes with tips for several different cell phones. I called IOGEAR and purchased the IPOD tip directly from them and the GearJuice has charged my phone and IPOD as advertised. The price was right and the product fills a need.

1.0 out of 5 stars Power Rating Is Inaccurate
The charger's battery is supposedly rated around 2000mAh. After initial conditioning, I'm finding this to be far from the truth. I've used it to charge 2 of my devices, 1 with a 1000mAh battery and the other with a 1350mAh battery; both are lituim ion. Both devices were powered completely off while charging, so there was no power being consumed.

Prior to testing, I depleted the partial charge of the PowerGear, and then charged it 12 hours past when the LED's indicated it had a full charge. I depleted it twice more, followed by charging it a full 6 hours past the LED's indicating it was ready to go.

The GearPower runs out of juice when either device reaches around 75% of a charge. I was expecting 1.5 charges out of the GearPower Portable Battery.

It's better than nothing, but not nearly as good as advertised.

4.0 out of 5 stars On-the-go battery charger, October 12, 2008

I wasn't exactly sure what this item did, but was pleasantly surprised at the purpose of this item. I charged this item on my PC USB port. It took a few hours. It has a lot of different adaptors (for different cell phones, bluetooth earphones and other small electronics. You can charge your items from this device pretty easily. I can get a full charge on my cell phone in less than 2 hours from it. This is a really great concepts when you are out and about and on your cell a lot. But this is only good if you have a PC somewhere to be able to recharge the unit. Another big problem is that the quality of the adaptors and or the unit make a tight secure fit not good, so you can't just put it in your purse because the connection won't stay together. I still use it, but I am going to look for a more expensive, higher quality item. Also, you can only get 1 charge for the cell phone out of it, which is better than nothing. I also want a unit that I don't have to recharge after I use it. What good is that. I may as well just recharge the device. Overall, it's not a bad item for the money. I should have given this 3 stars.

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT for HP 6315 IPaq, March 1, 2009
This review is from: IOGEAR GearJuice Mobile Pocket Power Pack (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I purchased this because my ActiveSynch charger stopped working and I wanted another way to charge my IPAQ from my computer. This item has no adapter that works with the IPAQ 6315 by HP.
I thought this was a pass-through type charger that I would plug into my computer and then connect to my IPAQ. However, the IOGEAR GearJuice Mobile Pocket Power Pack plugs into the computer, charges and then must be disconnected from the computer to be plugged into whatever you wish to charge.
The unit charged itself without problems from my computer. I have no current use for the IOGEAR GearJuice Mobile Pocket Power Pack.

3.0 out of 5 stars It worked good until it broke, February 19, 2009

I used it fine for a few weeks but accidentally stepped on the charging cable while the unit was charging from my pc. The small connector shifted sideways and will not charge the device now. I haven't taken the time to tinker with it but I'm appalled because it was a very small amount of pressure.

3.0 out of 5 stars What were you thinking? Close, but not quite..., January 2, 2009
This review is from: IOGEAR GearJuice Mobile Pocket Power Pack (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I have to admit, this sounded like a great idea. I saw the photos and knew it would work for my Blackberry, but whatever happened to simplicity? You connect this to your USB port and replace the adapter tip to fit this pack. Then, you remove that tip when charging is complete and find your corresponding tip. So, if you want to travel with this thing there is an extra adapter you have to carry everywhere. Not a big piece (obviously), but one more thing to lose. Why couldn't the people at IoGear make the cord without any adapters fit the USB port than directly into the battery pack? Charging capacity seems fine. I did try this on my wife's RZR and it says "unauthorized charger." Decent product, great Amazon price (now you know why they were blowing them out at $10 and still haven't sold out after 3 weeks.

I bought this item thinking it would support iPhone. It doesn't come with iPhone adapter and finding one is nearly impossible.
