The mouse worked instantly on my Macintosh as soon as I plugged it in. It is small (about 3"), glides easily and is quick. It requires slight effort to push the scroll wheel which I see as an advantage because that prevents accidental scrolling. The mouse glows red which prevents it getting lost, has a thin 2' cord, and works well on a mouse pad, cloth or hard surface.

EDIT: the mouse stopped working after a few months so I changed the rating to two stars.

It's indeed a great practical product, i've been using for more than a week and it works perfectly, it's recognize by WINDOWS Vista inmediatly no drivers required. I'm very happy with this optical mouse.

I have had other devices with this retraction feature, and I know how frail it can be. One of our help desk guys wandered over to my desk at work, picked up my mini mouse and started playing with it - extend, retract, extend, retract - it's not a YO-YO, dude!

Sure enough, it no longer works. I'm buying another one but not leaving it out on my desk this time (I use the retractable only when I take the laptop elsewhere; I have an IOGEAR mini that does NOT retract on my desktop setup.)

So just be careful with the retract-extend sequence and you should be OK. I'm happy enough that I'm buying another one, but I don't expect a lifetime warranty.

We ordered two of these to take with us to our annual conference, for our registration desk. Since we use laptops, having a mouse helps speed the registration process up. These worked great and they were a great price! They did the job that we needed without having to lug our bigger mice with us.

This mouse died on me today, after owning it for two year.

I am obviously buying another mini mouse since I cannot go back to a regular mouse (mini is better for wrist). I used to have a Toshiba and it lasted forever.

I bought this mouse in June of 2009, so I've been using it for over a year now and it's held up remarkably. At first I was very careful with it; I'd put it in the velvet pouch and tuck it in a safe pocket inside my briefcase. Now I just throw it in there and often chuck books, binders, and my laptop right on top of it. This mouse can take a beating!

It's small, cute, durable, and easy to use. My only complaint is that the retractable cord is touchy. Sometimes it gets twisted and stuck, and I have to futz with it to get it to retract all the way. But then the retractable cords on my iron and vacuum are also a pain, so maybe that's just the nature of the beast.

I have been really impressed with this little mouse. It has worked nearly flawless on every surface that I have used it on from carpet to tile to you name it.

I give it 5 stars for the price, but only 4 if the smoothness of the wheel movement under your finger matters to you. It works just fine, it's just that moving the wheel take a tad more effort.

This mouse is the best of the "minis" I have ever used. The slightly higher profile as well as the slightly larger scroll wheel make is the easiest to use and so far the longest lasting. The equivilent Targus wheel has a rubber exterior which often times slips off the wheel and the mouse must be diassembled to repair.

This mini mouse is perfect for use with my new netbook. It works great and will be perfect for travel.
