I bought this product with the intentions of streaming videos into my living room without the laptop being next to the TV with a VGA cable hanging out. After reading several reviews on wireless VGA adapters I decided to go with the more reputable brand that offered Win 7 support.

The software/driver installation was straight forward on both my PC & MAC and I was up and running in about ten minutes. I tried both platforms to see if one worked better than the other. Unfortunatly both gave me the same results.

This product works fine if you plan on using it for presentations, working on documents, surfing the web or common projector tasks you would do in a work environment. But when it comes to streaming video or daily home use, this product lags. All of the movies I played off of it had some kind of lag on the TV. Some more than others but overall the sync always got thrown off. I think the reason for this was posted in an earlier review having to do with the allocated video memory used on the adapter(32mb). I tried several combination settings on both computers to try and get just right but nothing. One thing I will say is that the range works very well because I was able to get the same results from 2 feet, 50+ feet and through a bedroom wall.

The uninstall on both computers was just as easy as the install and now I am back to looking for another solution to my problem.

In our work environment we often have meetings where different members of the team wish to share documents from their laptop with the group. Our meeting table is a little distance from the screen. We used to have a wire along the floor and then we would have to move it from person to person. It was a pain as often people had to change places since the cable didn't stretch to the back of the table. It also left our room looking messy.

Someone suggested that we use this IOGear product. We installed it and set up in 5 mins. (At first there were some resolution issues but I resolved those by changing the screen resolution settings.) Now we have this great solution whereby people just pass the dongle to the person who wishes to share their screen in an instant their laptop is shared with the group. We are going to replace all the wires in all of our conference rooms with these products. It's so elegant. We're very happy with this solution.

I do not know what the range is, but I have never had a problem, even in a large conference room.
