I bought this for a trade show in order to run two large plasma monitors from one laptop, and it worked right out of the box. It was exactly what I needed.

I was using a VGA splitter already, but it was just a cable with no amplifier. When I plugged this item in, it worked perfectly. Now my PC monitor is brighter. And most importantly, my LCD projected image is MUCH brighter. Wow, it looks great!
As stated by another reviewer, you WILL need a VGA cable that is male on one end, female on the other. Also, I had to adjust the horizontal position of my monitor image a bit by using those hardware controls you find on the outside of your monitor. But those are very minor inconveniences for a bright, attractive image. Give it a try.

Connector Needed,

This product works great. I am splitting a video signal to a projector and a LCD screen. The video quality is better than I was getting when just going to the projector. However my only gripe is with the input connector. It is a male input. All VGA monitor cables are male/male. You can do things to get around this. 1. Buy a monitor extension cable (they are male/female but they are a standard of about 15ft and usually not good quality). 2. Have a cable made that is male/female. Make sure you buy from a reputable source. 3. Buy a 15 pin F/F gender changer. Number 3 is what I needed to do because the splitter was about 50 ft away from the laptop. However no store locally sold them. They only had 9 and 25 pin gender changers. I am not sure why they made the input a male because it just doesn't match what the industry standards are.

I am a middle school teacher. What I was looking for was a splitter that would permit me to watch my monitor while simultaneously showing the same thing on a projector. I have a desktop CPU at school , so I don't have the extra VGA output that I have on my laptop. I set this unit up, got the right cables and have been good to go ever since. I don't even think about it any more, just turn on the projector and show what is on my screen. There is the issue of the male/female ends for the output, but like I said, with the right cables, it works great. If my situation is like yours, then consider this product. Works great!
