Too Quiet,

I bought this adapter for my fiancee for Christmas because she wanted something to use while jogging so that the cord wouldn't get tangled up. First, I should say that the initial pairing was very simple. I was a little worried about this because it occurred to me that neither these nor the Motorola MOTOROKR S9 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones had a screen or entry to enter the Bluetooth PIN into. However, the pairing was automatic because this device is smart enough to go through common PINs I guess.
However, after we paired we found the major flaw. The music that it put through was incredibly quiet. We had to turn her SanDisk Sansa MP3 player all the way up to hear anything at all. We thought it could be the MP3 player or the headphones so I tried the headphones with my PowerBook that has Blueotooth and they sounded great. Then we tried the adapter in the audio out of my laptop and that was quiet also. In the end I called IOGear and they told me there was nothing I could do about it so I returned them and am replacing them with something else for her.

I purchased this product as a replacement for another wireless bluetooth transmitter that wasn't compatible with my Sandisk Sansa e260. Overall, I can't much complain about the IOGear GBMA211, with the exception of the battery life is short. I can charge it for a full night and maybe get 8-10 hours out of it. Maybe that's typical for these things, but I don't know. Also, the volume output is significantly lower than if I were using the cord with my headphones and mp3 player. Those are the only two issues I've had with this and again, they're not horrible flaws. The device is a bit pricey, considering the flaws it has, but it's definitely convenient to have this, if you don't like dealing with cords.

So far so good,

So far this product has done well, used to have problems with other transmitters cutting in and out, but this one keeps a consistent signal, and the adapters it comes with are extremely useful, quite pleased, and the company shipped it almost immedietly

It works as it is supposed to. The sound quality is fine. Like other people here, I noticed relatively low volume, but that's not a problem -- I just have to increase the volume on my headsets. In my situation, the biggest flaw is that it can't work while being charged. I'm using it for watching TV, so it is constantly plugged in.
I actually called IOGear and asked them about this feature. The rep didn't know for sure, but said that it "should" work while charged. Well, it doesn't... and that's a disappointment!

I only use it for audio(books on CD or mp3) so don't know what music will sound like. Range 25' to 30' battery life 7 hours maybe less

sorry to say this product does not work for me the techinicans were very helpfull they suggested i use their head phones.the problem is the reception i tried this unit on 6 different mp3 players bad reception even when it is right in front of you.it cuts out if you turn your head you lose reception. i used a motorola s9 head phone.all my other gear works fine with the motorola s9. i dont want to play this product but it is what it is.they suggest using their head phone set. save your money and time.i have not tried any other brand yet so i dont know if they are any better.good luck TONY PHILA.PA.

Battery lasts about 3 hours. The unit is non-functional while it's charging. It should continue to operate when plugged into an external power source. Or the internal battery should last for most of an 8 to 10 hour work day.

IOGear GBMA211 is working very good with Bluetooth wireless set PYLE PBT55D Bluetooth Wireless Foldable Stereo Headphone . Battery life is also very good. Pairing is very easy. Also works with other MP3 player and laptop. Range is also very good. It's very easy to use, easy to charge. I like that it doesn't require any outlet plug as other adapters do and it makes this one much more versatile. The volume output is significantly lower than if I were using the cord with my headphones and mp3 player. Overall very good...Shipping was also very good. I got it within 2 days.

IOGEAR Wireless Transmitter,

The IOGEAR transmitter works great with my earphones. I thought I was going to have to spend $150 for a new set of headphones and transmitter but since the transmitter seemed to be the only problem, I decided to try the IOGEAR transmitter and hoped that it would work with my headphones. I use the wireless setup for my metal detector to avoid wearing a standard set of earphones tied to the detector with a wire. The wireless set up makes use of the metal detector much easier. The sound quality of the set up is excellent. Previously I used a Logitech wireless system that eventually quit working. The transmitter battery life failed to hold a charge. When I first purchased the Logitech system it was $80. Now it is around $150, so bye bye Logitech.

I wanted this for working out. The range is good--I can leave my basement and go upstairs and not lose signal. The battery life is good--I use it an hour or so every other day and only charge every week or ten days. It's very easy to use, easy to charge. I like that it doesn't require any outlet plug as other adapters do--it makes this one much more versatile. The only real down side is that it is a little quiet. I have to keep my MP3 player's volume close to maxed out to get enough sound while I'm working out. Still, I recommend it. |
