Required Credit Card Information,
This review is from: Drivescrubber 3 (CD-ROM)
As I went through the set up (connected to the internet), it asked if I wanted to register for the automatic annual renewal and I chose not to. I was later asked to enter my credit card information just incase I wanted to purchase additional services at a later time. It would not let me complete my online registration without entering a valid credit card number nor would it allow me to complete the installation without entering a valid number.

Won't Install on Vista (64-bit) and Very Buggy on XP,
By
This review is from: Drivescrubber 3 (CD-ROM)
I tried installing this software on three systems.
The first was an old XP machine. Installing was a pain since it requires you to connect to the internet to check a 15-character "user ID" and 20-character "serial number" before the software will install properly. Since the computer wasn't connected to the internet, suffice it to say iolo's DRM is inconvenient (to put it nicely). After installing, I tried doing a deep scrub of the free space on a 20 GB partition of a SATA drive and 3 hours later it was less than 1% done. If that weren't bad enough, the interface locked up and hid itself for 5 minutes at a time, making it difficult to check progress and see if the software was still working. Eventually I was able to do a less thorough scrubbing that only took about 45 minutes. Next I tried to install the software on my Vista 64-bit machine. It won't install, I'll leave it at that. Last, I tried installing and using the software on my laptop (you get a license for 3 installations). It installed, but for some reason it's saying that I have "3 months left on my subscription". Huh? I think it's going to deactivate itself in 3 months, but that's completely puzzling since I paid for a whole version, not a subscription, in the store. I then tried to use it to scrub an external drive, and at first the software said "operation successful" right away, but examining the disk revealed what I suspected. Drivescrubber didn't do a darn thing. All of my data was still there! A second attempt proved more successful, but all of the problems I have with Drivescrubber 3 lead me to strongly advise against buying the software. It's poorly programmed and there are too many bugs to tolerate.

Don't bother unless you are tech savvy,

DriveScrubber 3
Unless you know how to change your BIOS to make this work, don't bother purchasing. I'm not tech savvy enough to do this and ended up having my hard drive so messed up, that I bought another (hard drive) and started over.
