4.0 out of 5 stars CASSETTE TRANSFER MADE EASY
This is my second Ion transfer product -- the first was to transfer LP's into digital. Both work extremely well and are easy to use. The only problem with purchasing this product is a current software glitch between Apple's I Tunes and the software that Ion includes with their product. This glitch does not allow as easy listing of songs and artist as intended -- there...

1.0 out of 5 stars POS with a lot of problems
So my daughter bought this for me as a birthday gift since I have a ot of old tapes. I found out I had to have iTunes to operte it. So I downloaded iTunes. Then after my first recording I found out I had no sound. Only after removing the EZ convert software that came with this piece of junk and restarting my PC did I get sound again. This is my second Ion transfer product -- the first was to transfer LP's into digital. Both work extremely well and are easy to use. The only problem with purchasing this product is a current software glitch between Apple's I Tunes and the software that Ion includes with their product. This glitch does not allow as easy listing of songs and artist as intended -- there is an easy workaround, you just have to enter the information at the I Tunes level as opposed to the Ion level. I've talked to the Ion software provider and they indicated they and Apple are working on a fix. This temporary problem isn't a reason NOT to buy the product as I'm sure it will be resolved. The pricing is fair and represents a good value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fine tape deck, May 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ION Audio Tape2PC USB Cassette Recorder Deck (Electronics)
I bought this recorder mainly to record cassette tapes so I can play them in our car that has a tape player and no cd player. Rather than ripping out the cassette player to install a cd player and screwing it up or worse yet having some kid in an audio store mess it up I opted to buy this recorder to make my own tapes. It does a great job even on standard bias tapes. I did have a few pre recorded tapes to digitalize and it does a fine job of that. The fact that it has no auto reverse is a plus to me. I want it to stop when it finishes one side of the tape. Of course only time will tell of it's reliability. The software that comes with it is nothing to write home about, so I use Audio Grabber free version that I have been using to digitalize my vinyl records.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the Job, February 25, 2010
This review is from: ION Audio Tape2PC USB Cassette Recorder Deck (Electronics)
I used the newest version of the ION software from their website, not the software on the included CD. No auto-reverse does make the process more tedious, but if you want to rewind tapes, you can rewind two at once. The output knob on the back of the unit allows you to limit the output signal to avoid distortion. I had no problems once I got the device set-up and the output adjusted, and was able to find the transferred recordings in iTunes.

Exactly what I was looking for and much better than I had expected. Was surprised at how quickly it was delivered.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst tech support around, November 30, 2009

ION has the worst tech support around and their documentation is inadequate.

I found the same item at Costco for $30.00 less with better support
