Great gamepad for travel, works nice with emulators and xpadder mapping software on windows xp.

my only gripe is instead of a turbo and clear button on the face of the controller would have been better suited as 2 more usable/ mappable buttons. other than that it's gold, i use it for snes emulation on a netbook and it works great, i just map start and select to the secondary triggers since the turbo and clear face buttons cant be mapped.

I didn't actually need a folding portable game controller, but I did need a portable remote that I can use with my tablet. I own a HP TM2T tablet and it doesn't have any buttons on the screen bezel, or sides, for things like undo, copy, paste, zoom in, etc., which are extremely useful when drawing or sketching. Professional Cintiq tablets have loads of programmable buttons on their screen bezel. So, this pad, along with a helpful program called Xpadder, allowed me to do just that.
I've only used the pad briefly with games. The dpad itself isn't the greatest for fighting games, but it does fine with other games in a pinch. I also wish there were some start and select buttons.
Anyway, I love this product, and it's super portable.

It works. Feelings is not bad for this size. But the design is weird.
You may see the pad has Turbo/Clear buttons. They don't work. It has dual LR shoulder buttons. They work. So I have to assign Select/Start to L1/R2 (or L2/R2). Weird.

Windows detect the pad as "8-button gamepad". This means Turbo/Clear buttons won't work. I tried this pad for android too. Turbo/Clear didn't work as well.

Convenient. That's the go-word for the GOpad. It's small, it's very light, it comes with a 1m retractable USB/mini-USB cord of its own, and... it's pretty durable. The exposed ribbon-cable between the halves of the pad worry me a bit, and the plastic is so light I do worry I might crush it between my mitts, but the buttons are still squishy after a marathon weekend of blue-bomber games and the hinge still works despite several falls and tumbles.

The pad does work. It looks like a cross, but given that my thumb was eclipsing it, I treated it like a big and rounded pad, almost like the Master System's d-pad. This means it's comfy enough so I didn't get blisters, but small enough that I sometimes hit 'down' when I meant to hit 'left'.

There's good spacing on the face buttons, and they're tilted slightly so you can rotate your thumb over all four with ease without snags. They're a good shape so you can mash each one individually without worry about slipping into another, and they've got good spring to register all those presses.

The turbo/clear buttons are a little complex, but they're tied to the controller and will work on any OS (tested on Windows, Linux, Mac, Android): hold the Turbo and then press a button; when you release Turbo, that button now has rapid-fire. Hold Clear then press a button, and when you release Clear, that button will no longer have rapid-fire.

The shoulder buttons are an issue; since the controller is so small, you'll probably barely have the flexability to hit the outer buttons while hitting the inner ones (or hitting the outer ones without hitting the inner ones).

I bought this game pad for use with emulators. I am impressed with how comfortable it is and how well it works. I tested this for use on WinXP, Win7, and Ubuntu. Work great on all of these systems. Awesome controller for SNES and NES emulation.

Very portable. Very small. Kind of hard to use if you have big hands or long fingers, you get used to it. D-pad not suited for fast paced games. Kind of lags and get alot of missed button presses.

For $6-7 controller, this does what it should for the price. It has 8 buttons (4 on the front, 4 on the top), and a "Turbo" and "Clear" button to simulate button mashing. The D-pad works fine, but it's somewhat mushy and by far the worst part of the controller. The buttons have a better feel to them, and are suitable for most retro/throwback games. It comes with a very good retractable mini-USB cable that's handy for use on other devices. Overall, the feel is OK -- a bit uncomfortable for long sessions do to its weird shape and an obnoxious plastic extrusion used to keep it together when closed, but manageable for short bursts. On Windows XP and 8, it's recognized fine and is perfectly plug n' play.

If you aren't looking to play heavy PC games and are just looking at playing some of the cheap classic game collections, and need something portable and cheap, then buy this. Otherwise, look elsewhere (the 360 controller is much better for everyday use).

Edit: There are definitely better controllers out there for playing retro games (an excellent solution is to get an old controller to PC adapter, for example), but if you're not willing to spend the money on them then this isn't a bad choice so long as it stays at $10 or below.
