The adapter came with all the harnesses to connect to the factory deck in my 2005 Avalanche. Some of the clearences were a little tight but this had nothing to do with the unit. There was plenty of cable to locate the unit in the center console, out of harms way and out of site. I had to drill a hole to put the ipod connector in the center console armrest. The unit worked as advertised and was also upgraded to show Artist and Title when you push the DISP button. Unfortunately you have to push it for every song but I believe this is an issue with the Factory Head Unit not the PA11-GM. The instructions are a spotty but if you read them completely it is all there. I was able to connect the unit as XM1 and it works as described. XM2 is still available for XM radio if I wanted to throw my money away on that. The truck also has a DVD player in the back seat connected to the factory head unit, this still works also. As an added bonus the factory system supports selecting audio from the back seat. The PA11-GM/IPOD is available from the back seat as XM1 also. I created a couple of playlists and I can select them like giant CDs. If I am listening to the radio and the kids want to listen to the IPOD they can choose it separately from the back seat. If I had one complaint it would be not being able to see what song is playing without having to push the DISP button.

I tried another manufacturers iPod product and was not able to get it to work. Every 15 minutes it would pause the iPod.

So, I landed this little unit and it works great! Displays this artitst and track name, but it doesn't scroll the entire name, just the first 8 letters or so. No big deal. It works, which is more than I can say for the other manufacturer.

Completely happy with the purchase. It is great to have 1000+ songs at your fingertips.

I love the idea of this product but I cannot get it to keep working. I installed it in a 2007 H3 Hummer. Installation was straight forward and initially it worked like a champ but then all of a sudden it will just quit. I even sent my first unit back and got a replacement. The longest it has worked without stopping has been 4 days. And when I say 'stop working' what happens is all of a sudden the radio no longer recognizes it. Normally my radio will show XM1, then iPod, then the track info. When it quits working, all of a sudden you do not get XM1 as an option. the Band button just cycles through the other choices. The iPod still shows that it is connected and continues to charge but that is it. I have to take the radio out and disconnect everything and reconnect it to get it working again. It's driving me crazy. I really want this thing to work.

I purchased this unit about a year and a half ago. It installed pretty simply and worked fine for a while. Then the radio had to be removed again by a radio shop to replace the antenna. Ever since then, when using the iPod, the right channel no longer worked. It was fine with CD or AM/FM, just no right channel for the iPod. I finally tore into it today and found the problem. The Y connector that interfaces this unit between the factory harness and the radio is very poorly constructed. One of the many splices in this harness had disconnected. Three others weren't even soldered, they were just wrapped around each other and taped, in-mass, together with the loom, causing two of them to ground with each other. I reconnected and re-soldered all of the connections and then properly wrapped the loom to take any stress off of those connections and everything works fine now. At the same time I added the RCA connectors for the aux input, but I have yet to get it to work. I have a call into their tech support for that, so there may be an update to this post shortly.
Overall, it is a good unit that will work as advertised as long as you don't have to take your radio in and out more than once causing too much stress on a poorly executed Y loom.

The provided instructions are AWFUL! But once I got it all connected up, it works pretty well. Great sound, but it still doesn't play the correct playlist even though I named them per the instructions. Also my radio doesn't display the song information. Beats the heck out of an FM transmitter though because you can hide the iPod and control it via the steering wheel.

I installed this with just a screw driver and cordless drill in my wife's car as a surprise. it sounds great, but we can't make the playlist feature work. You can move forward and back from song to song, but i can't make the GM!, GM2 GM3 playlist feature work. I also plugged a second sound source into the RCA jacks (XM radio) It's much better than going with an FM modulator option.

very easy to install into my silverado. works great! I am in agreement with the 1st reviewer. In my case, 3 screws was all it took. Less than an hour to install. No drill...ran my ipod cord to the back of the glovebox. Install was do easy. Also, in my case, the ipod acts as a cd changer.
