5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Overview Of Groundbreaking Technology, February 8, 2007
By

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: IPTV Crash Course (Paperback)
I just moved into the IPTV Product Management group at a major telecom carrier, and I needed just what this book offers: a crash course in IPTV. What the technology is about; how it will change the TV concept as we know it; how it will change advertising paradigms; which operators are doing what; basic network architecture; digital rights management (i.e. copyright securitiy). This book HAD IT ALL. The writing was very clear and uncomplicated. The chapters (and the book) are organized, and they build on each other. The book reviews all key concepts related to IPTV, and is a "must have" for anyone who wants to know how this technology works, or someone who's just begun working on the technology such as myself.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: IPTV Crash Course (Paperback)
This book offers a full coverage of IPTV. The technical reviews of digital and IPTV as well as IP set-top box with illustrations are clear. In addition, the account of digital home networking, digital and analog output copy protection from IP set-top box, Digital Rights management and IPTV services are both practical and interesting. It is a good read and good value for money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Kindle version isn't worth the $29 price, March 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: IPTV Crash Course (Kindle Edition)
After half way through the second chapter, no more figures or tables are displayed. The TOC links, but the index doesn't.
