IQAir Replacement HEPA Filter for HealthPro Line

I have had bad allergies to pollen, chemicals and other air contaminants for more than 30 years. During that time I have tried many, many different air filters. The IQAir HealthPro is by far the best unit I have ever used. No matter how bad the pollen is outside, it never bothers me inside thanks to this unit. And with the activated carbon filter, even VOC's do not bother me. This was especially helpful after we painted our house.

The only cons to this unit are that it is expensive to operate (the unit and the replacement filters are pricey) and it is fairly loud at high speed. I run it on high speed only to initially clean the air in the room and then run it at low speed during the night while we sleep, which provides the perfect amount of white noise.

Despite the cost and noise, I highly recommend this unit for anyone who has allergies or chemical sensitivities.

I purchased IQ Air HealthPro about 12 years ago and it still works great. At the time I was using an Austin Air as well as an ionizer. Since birth, I have had tested allergic to dust, environmentals, and various fragrances. I definitely could tell an improvement with the IQ Air HealthPro in that it seemed to remove finer particulates from the air and it felt easier to breathe. I was so impressed that I bought a second IQ Air - this time a HealthPro Plus with the V5 odor and gas removal cell. It is still working great as well. Sometimes lately either one will make a slight high pitch noise but I have found if I move it around on the tile floor, the high pitch noise goes away; so I think the motor may be sensitive to being off balance but I am not sure about that.

I enjoy the HealthPro Plus even more and I especially like it near the kitchen as it removes cooking odors! Both of my IQ Air HealthPros use the HEPA filter for which this review is for. I think the HEPA filters used in the IQ Air are superior to the other brands I have tried. At times over the years, I have wondered if my allergies were cured so I would try turning off the air purifiers. When I turned it back on over the next couple of days I could definitely tell an improvement in ease of breathing, relaxation, comfort, and less sinus congestion. As I have been using these two machines for over a decade, you can well imagine that I have purchased A LOT of filters!

I love my IQAir, there is (apparently) no problem with the filter.

But, it has a "New Look" which is confusing customers.

The thin layer of blue foam rubber has been eliminated from the top and bottom of this filter. The only advisory IQAir offers is a small sticker on the box advising "New Look".

At first, I thought I had been sent the wrong filter. The box I received had previously been opened (although the plastic bag containing the filter had not been opened). My assumption is that somebody else received this box, opened it, thought they had been shipped the wrong filter and (unnecessarily) returned it.

I docked the product 1 Star because I thought they should have included a printed insert describing the "New Look" and what prompted it. I started to send IQAir a technical service question. But, they insisted that I give them more personal information than I cared to divulge -- so, I did not place an inquiry with them.

Again, the only problem here is a failure to properly communicate.

Was a little concerned after reading multiple reviews about them changing this filter, but it works EXACTLY like the old version. Zero smell despite previous reviews saying there was a chemical smell. I assume they resolved any transition issues by now. Works great!

These are pricey, but last a long time. The "build" is substantial. Mine arrived quickly and as pictured.

The IQAir HEPA Filter is part of the best air cleaning system I have had. It's not the cheapest but I think it is the best. The product arrived very fast and in good condition.
