Do understand that this review is ONLY for the "iRenew Sport" wristband. I bought mine at Wal-mart, and here is how I came by this review title.
I work 3rd shift as a cashier. I have torn cartilage in both knees, a heel spur with inflamed plantar tendon on my left foot, and a deformed metatarsal joint with bunion on my right foot, due to a 12 year old injury that I never had fixed. I am 58 years old. When I tell you that I am in great pain on many days, I mean it, no drama. I limp a lot.
Yesterday, along with my left foot hurting badly, and both feet burning, as usual, my left knee began to feel like something was jabbing hard behind the knee, with every step. Maybe a tendon, I don't know. I just know that I hurt enough to limp, much more so than usually.
Well, at work tonight, my supervisor showed me the iRenew Sport that she had around her ankle. She is in her 60s, and has arthritis in both feet. She told me that a customer had told her how well this item worked for him, so she bought one. She said that in 10 minutes, her foot stopped hurting. Then she put it on her other foot, and in 30 minutes, that leg stopped hurting.
You guys, I bought one at lunch time, put it on my left ankle, beneath my sock, and sat for about 45 minutes. When I walked back to the time clock, I limped about 30 feet because of that left foot, but then the pain stopped. For the next 4 hours, I had NO PAIN whatsoever in my whole left leg and foot. NONE.
The last time I felt this pain free was with Percoset from the doctor. Honestly, I am not exaggerating. I haven't walked this fast in at least twelve years, since before I hurt my knees and right foot. When my shift was over, I bought the last two in stock, loaned one to the people greeter so she could try it before she spent $20, and dropped one off at my son's house for him to try. I hope this works for them, but regardless, it works for me!!! I don't know why, I don't care why. It works, and I don't hurt.
After I removed the one from my ankle, I waited to see how long the relief would last without that band on. By about 2 hours later, I can feel the knee getting "iffy" again, so I put the iRenew Sport back on my left ankle. We will see. I'll keep you posted. I'm off work, and sitting for long periods brings a different sort of pain to bad knees and heel spur/fascia tendons.
UPDATE: SUNDAY MORNING, 4:00 AM, JULY 24, 2011
I got off work, Saturday morning, yesterday, at 7 AM, and wanted to let you know how this evaluation is proceeding. I wore this wristband around my ankle at work after sleeping with it on for about 5 hours. I worked my full 9 hour shift.
During my shift, I noticed that my knee and foot were just a little more painful than during the pain-free period of time that I was wearing the wristband the day before. I'm guessing that is possibly because I worked that area harder as a result of being pain free. It was exilarating to be able to walk so quickly, and I probably overdid it, but being able to move again felt so good!
So I came home, and removed the wristband. Sat around for a few hours, then went to sleep. This being my day off, I slept until about 1:30 am, Sunday morning. My knee and foot hurt SO BADLY, especially my knee, that I could hardly get out of bed and walk. Again, I am not exaggerating. It's hard to show sincerity in a written review, so excuse me if I repeat myself too much.
I hobbled around with my very sleepy self, making coffee and whatever, trying to wake up after sleeping so long, being VERY CAREFUL because of my painful and unstable knee and foot. I put the iRenew wristband back on my left ankle, and now, about 2 hours later, my knee and foot are back to being stable and pain free, except for an area behind my left knee, where I can feel an "awareness" of weakness. BUT- NO PAIN. No instability.
Please, folks, if you hurt, buy one of these. Buy two if you need the extra length to wear the wristband closer to the ache, like a shoulder, or neck. I am going to try wearing the wristband on my right wrist to see how that affects my left knee and foot. Again, I will update this post with my experiences. I don't know how this thing works, but I am so glad that it does.
