From what I can tell, it isn't. It doesn't have a number, which seems a dead giveaway that it isn't going to follow the main story line of what Desmond is going through. It's probably just a companion story like Bloodlines on the PSP, or the other games on the DS, where it continues Ezio's story.
From what I've read, it sounds like it'll have multiplayer though, which'll be cool. I liked AC2 enough that I'll probably pick this up as well.
This is not actually Assassins Creed 3. This is more like a spinoff (hence why there is no 3 in the title) and the main selling point of this game is that it is going to include multiplayer in a setting similar to Assassins Creed 2.
Why they are not calling it Assassins Creed 2: Brotherhood I'll never know.
Go to Gameinformer.com and search Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. Read the articles there for more details. It is not Assassin's Creed 3. It is indeed a spinoff starring Ezio. Not sure yet if Desmond will be in it. Sure hope he is.
Yes and No. It's the third Assassin's Creed game(not counting handhelds) But its not the third in the actual serious, its just a continuation of the Ezio storyline. Assassin's Creed 3 probably be announced next year.
HEY! Ya think they might do something really cool like they did with AC2? You know, where they skip certain chapters and then offer them to you through DLC for a fee? I REALLY, REALLY loved that. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed seeing that.
That was a pure d***-move.
I cannot help but think this is mostly for the multiplayer that they obviously could have added to AC2. I loved AC2, mostly for the gameplay as the story still sucked. Towards the end I was sure there was going to be modern day running through cityscapes due to the dream sequences but...nope...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GxX8R7Nf3A&annotation_id=annotation_574496&feature=iv that link shows one of the game designers talking about ACB, he says it starts directly after AC2, and has a full campaign
I hate to say it but I am not looking forward to this one. I loved AC2 but only for the gameplay, still found the story fairly boring. There's some interesting things going on but they drag out like 1 hour of story for the entire game. I only saw a brief part of the E3 presentation but it was far from exciting. Unless the multiplayer is just epic fun, this one goes on the back-burner for me.
If this is an expansion, then $60 for this game is pretty unreasonable. If it's not a full game, I don't know how they can get away with it. If it's a full game, then I don't understand how they created an entirely new game for sale so soon after AC2. This is sketchy. I will definitely need more information before I consider this one.
This is pretty much Assassin's Creed 2.5 or like someone said Halo 3:ODST. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is a spin off of ACII. Assassin's Creed 3 is said not to be coming out for a few years. I believe they said You have to make them miss it a bit. So we won't be seeing it for a few years. But is a good idea because otherwise he'd be on Assassin's Creed overload. I'm looking forward to AC:Brotherhood and ready for the last installment of the Assassin's Creed Trilogy.
I also heard Egypt. It had something to do with a picture posted by Ubi with an assassin standing in front of a pyramid... Google: Assassins Creed 3 Egypt. Who knows... I also heard rumors of possible settings in Industrial age London or even something in Japan?
