Ok, when I first got this everything pretty much was straight forward. Install the software, plug in the stuff, and a few other simple things. One thing I wish I would've known was my computer can't be signed on to messenger if I want to use it on the phone. One thing I really liked about the phone was the keypad, it was very simple and the buttons were comfortable, but still something to get used to. One other great thing is the talk option of when you're on AIM. Other than the part where the computer has to be signed off in order for it to work on the phone, this is all in all a great product.

I purchased this on a whim for my home office. While it has nice texting capabilities, it does not produce the best sound quality for calls. I have used this with and without a headset. Don't bother using a headset with it, unless you have no qualms about hearing "huh" repeatedly! Terrible sound quality. Overpriced for the quality. Texting from land line is nice while I'm working on the computer for my corporation, but other than that, I would only purchase this for a cool gadget you can tell others "hey, look...this is a land line, it looks like a cell phone and you can actually text from it..." nice conversation piece, but other than that...save your money.

The phone sounds great but as far as the texting is not good. I use MSN only but you have to download both MSN and AIM which I think for me is too much. My computer when I turn it on everything comes up on the start menu and it's annoying. I try to remove it from the start menu but no luck... So I don't text, which that suck!!!! The phone part is not bad, feels like a toy phone but it does sound clear and it saves your number's on to the phone which I kinda like. Makes it easy to dial. All and all it's okay. Just wish the texting would have worked for me!!!

I first bought this phone for my daughter who had moved and needed a new land line. She connected it to her computer and called me through MSN messenger. She talks to me on her phone through the computer and with my headset and microphone speak to her from Kuwait for free.

We have enjoyed it so much that I bought one for my two other children and my twin sister in Texas. It is fantastic! Great clarity, text messaging capable and looks great!

This phone can not be used with Windows 7 and V Tech has no intention of providing an update. You do not build a phone and abandon it after selling it to the public. I now have another piece of tech trash that is useless to me.

I have tried to download the software so the msn messenger could be used on this phone and it downloaded but it would not connect. It would say I have the wrong password when I know that I don't. After a couple of days of trying I just gave up! I have a high tech house phone and nothing more! The extra features that attracted me to the phone, I can't get to work. I did get to put my own ringtones on it and that was really cool!

I think its pretty easy to use, its quick, and helpful.
You can access AIM anywhere in & around your house.
The only thing I don't like about it, is when I am doing something, sometimes the AIM shuts down, or says the software is busy.

This is MY review: I like that it free's up our one computer for others to use. She can be on AIM, and we can still access the computer doing what we like. We can also make and receive phone calls even when she is using this! It doesn't tie up the phone line~ a pop up comes on the screen and lets her know that there is an incoming call. When no one is using it, it rings like a normal phone. Ringtones can be anything you like. Even record your own.

Set up was a bit stressful, but it was managable, just keep following the prompts and directions~even though it seems a bit redundant. The unit was ready to use in about 25 minutes from the time we took it out of the box. (We aren't too savy when it comes to technology, so I am sure others could do it faster.)

My family is glad that I bought it, since we no longer are all fighting for the computer, and best of all..... my teenager is actually glad she received it! At that age that is really something! :0)

generally the phone is good however getting it set up to access the internet is a bit difficult.

yes, this product is fun, exciting, supports AOL/MSN... but it fails to support the updated MSN/Windows Live builds later than 8.5 (such as builds 12 or 14, which is the new MSN 9), nor does it support any other languages of MSN builds other than English/US.
i had to actually track down MSN 8.1 English/US (not English/India) to use this, which is no easy feat, as MSN/WL installer for 8.5 automatically updates to 14 (which is MSN 9), thus making this innovative product a useless, oversized cordless phone. I just emailed Vtech for workaround, but don't get your hopes up. it makes no sense for Vtech to have had forethought to support future updated versions of MSN/WL, as Microsoft tends to phase out older versions of MSN (remember Windows Messenger?) and renders them null. Cool product, but intrinsically and fundamentally flawed. As MSN is such an integral part to this product, i think it warrants only 1/5 stars for such failure until updated to support later MSN/WL versions.

I bought this as a gift for my niece who is a college student and she is raving about it.
