Love this product. If you hae to write papers that require endnotes, this is the product for you. Push a button and wham the endnotes are complied in a format of your chosing. This is a great way to keep track of papers, books, or whatever media you may want to use as reference. When entering the biolographic information, take moment to enter the abstract. Take the time to your in the notes section your thought about the paper. What you liked. What you didn't like. Make good choices when choosing the keywords. You will have a handy way to search for information in the furture that you would like to revisit. This is a great organizational tool.

I upgraded from Endnote 5 to this version, X3. I am pleased with the upgrade and I enjoy the drag and drop features in X3. I also find the ability to make folders to divide references by topic very useful. This version also makes it easier to toggle back and forth between the reference list and retreiving references from online sources, like pubmed. Overall, X3 is working well for me, but I suspect that is because I am jumping from version 5 to X3, bypassing about 7 other versions. There may not be much improvement between X3 and the recent X2 version.

Endnote X3 Upgrade for Windows

I have used this software at my job before I retired and bought it for home use for the writing projects I have started. It is a great program.

If you have used previous versions of Endnote you know how essential the software is. In general I love the program. This version is fine, and overall I am happy with it. There are 2 features I find inconvenient, however. First, the software came pre-installed with only a very limited spectrum of journal styles. I had to copy styles from my previous version's folder, which did not automatically transfer to the Endnote X3 styles folder during installation, for some reason. Second, you used to be able to toggle back and forth between references downloaded from PubMed and references in the library. For some reason, with this version, after I copy references from PubMed to the library, the online connection terminates and when I go back to do more searching, I have to reconnect. Other than these minor irritations, I am very happy with it.
