Product Description

The Decimator G String II provides you with the latest and arguably the best in noise reduction technology. The G String II offers the same noise reduction as the "basic" Decimator II pedal, but adds in another channel for insertion into a series effects loop or after a preamp section. It also includes a LINK IN and LINK OUT allowing two pedals to be linked via a common 1/8 inch Tip/Sleeve or Tip/Ring/Sleeve phone cord allowing both pedals noise reduction signal processing circuits to track the direct instrument input.

Every once in a while you buy a product that simply does exactly what it's supposed to do... That feeling is just awesome. This pedal was one of those purchases for me. I plugged it in, adjusted the decibles, and ahhhhhhhh..... Yes! That hissing background crap is GONE.

To be clear, this eliminates noise below a certain decible range... Don't expect it to remove noise from the actual sound of the guitar. But the spaces inbetween notes are clean and clear of hiss and fuzz. I like to use a diamond optical compression pedal at the beginning of my chain... Add that to some burly distortion or fuzz pedals, and a Vox AC30, and you get ever increasing noise (and I'm running all my power via VooDoo Power). All of the background noise I normally get during pauses and silence are absolutely removed, without affecting the sound while I'm playing. This is an EXCELLENT purchase, and I'm glad I bought it.

This is THE BEST noise reduction pedal ever made! ISP has definitely nailed it with this unit. Its built-in loop is amazing and provides the clearest experience in reducing anything that might affect your tone signal. Please read all instructions carefully, as this pedal can be connected in various ways (in front of the amp, on the effects loop of your amplifier, with a single loop for noisy pedals on the chain only and some more), basically depending on specific needs of the musician. Awesome engineering as ISP products have always presented. Highly recommended. Look no more!

I am stacking overdrive pedals and tend to get a nasty buzz when both pedals are active. The Decimator does an excellent job of killing the buzz without affecting tone. I have not had to use the pedal past -30 Db, but I have not noticed any issues with note falloff at that setting.

The pedal has to be used in a loop. That would be fine except for the fact guitar in, guitar out and loop in are all on the right side of the pedal. This can lead to a pretty messy pedal board setup unless you are using something like the George L pedal board kit to connect your pedals.

Overall, the pedal does an amazing job of reducing noise, so I give it 5 stars. But, buyers who want a clean looking pedal board may want to look at the non-G string version of this pedal that doesn't have to be used in a loop.
