This book was recommended by a friend, and I liked it so much I decided to buy a copy for myself. It has pictures and pronounciations, stickers and flash cards, and feels like a grammar school workbook, which is said as a compliment. In other words, it approaches learning a new language in a very non-threatening and fun way, not at all like a stuffy textbook. I have been able to make a lot of progress using this book along with the Italian language class I am taking as a supplement to the stuffy textbook. The instructor wants to use this for the text next semester.

Italian in 10 Minutes a Day is a great book for beginners or those wanting only a superficial understanding of the language. The colorful presentation, fun activities, flashcards, and word stickers are all a great way to get started, but please understand before purchasing that you will NOT be anywhere near fluent regardless of how much time is spent with this book. You will be "speaking" in 10 minutes a day, but don't think small Tuscan villages where English is little spoken will be open to you, or Italian music or movies. My recommendation, get this book, use it and then get a more serious grammar and a tape course like Pimsluer.

This is a fun and easy way to learn basic words in Italian. When put together you will be able to communicate when you travel to Italy. I would recommend this book.

I was very pleased with the book and also how fast I received the books. They are supposed to be used but they are in perfect shape.

We needed the books for classes starting the following week and received them in plenty of time.

I especially liked the CD-Rom that came with the book, it is a big help in learning.

I am enjoying learning Italian through the guide-lines of this book. The DVD is also very helpful in picking up and learning the correct pronunciation of the words.

I am taking Italien lessons with a girlfriend and our instructor recommended this book. The book itself is fine (not sure you will truly learn Italian in ten minutes/day from it as it's not that exhaustive) but the CD that comes with it is worthless. It has just about 100 words on it and then it repeats. Nothing like the CD rom version of Rosetta Stone. It would have been so easy to make it better too. All it required was another hour recording someone speaking in English and then Italian.

I would recommend the book but you need a different audio learning aid if you are truly going to learn the language.

I use this book to not only learn Italian on my own but also for teaching my boys Italian. I already had the book but when I saw that it came with a CD-Rom I bought it again. I love the interactive for the computer. It is a great way to test you knowledge. Some of the stickers are hard to place for labeling. I like it fits in our school day perfectly. Would definitely recommend this book.

This series of books is very helpful for building vocabulary and learning pronounciation phonetically. There are stickers and cards and a CD. A very useful companion to any course of study in conversational Italian. Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful series of books- I got Italian in 10 minutes a day before my trip to Italy and it was fantastic. Anytime I go to somewhere, I get a book in that language now. It makes learning the language actually fun. That's because it's as interactive as a book can be, and works like a workbook that you write in. By the time you've written a word three times, you remember it better. It also has a very smart system of throwing in some words in the foreign language together with English instructions, descriptions, etc, so even when you're reading introductions and explanations, you're learning. I recommend this book to friends all the time.

My husband and I are planning a trip to Italy and this has been very helpful and fun way to learn the basics.
