Amazing Small Bright and Versitle LED Flashlight,
By jj (CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: ITP Light A3 EOS Version 2 80-Lumen Cree 7090-XP-E Q5 LED Flashlight Natural Black
I'm sure that there is or will be some light in the AAA battery size that are smaller or brighter but for this price this is an amazing light. The bright is perhaps 45 minutes on high and is brighter than my old 2D Mag light by quite a bit. Well bright enough to take on a walk and see your way. The medium is good for a couple or few hours never ran it out yet. Medium is where it turns on and that is ideal for general use inside a car or house. The low is what is really amazing it is just right to read by in total darkness. I'm guessing something like 2 days of non stop run at this level. Great for when you are reading a map in the car at night and don't to destroy your night vision. No strobe or SOS, thank goodness. Just three levels via easy turning twisty switch, first medium (most useful level) then high for outdoors walking etc., then low which is great for reading at night or not loosing your night vision but still finding your way around the room in total darkness. Turn the switch within 2 seconds off and then back on and it changes modes. Just barely bigger than an AAA battery. Weighs almost nothing in aluminum. I forget it's in my pocket it so small and light. I can't say enough good about the quality and usefulness of this light. I have lots of nice LED lights and this one gets more use than any of them because it's always with me because it's so small, with a wide range of low to bright, relatively long run times on AAA and rock solid reliable. 7 stars!!!!!!!, no kidding 7

I was looking for a key-chain flashlight to replace my aging MAGLITE Solitaire (1xAAA). I was hoping for something a little brighter and wow, did I find it. This light is a little shorter than the Solitaire and just a bit wider, but not enough to tell while in my pocket. To operate it requires twisting the business end like the Mag lights, but it also has three levels of intensity. When first twisted it will default to the medium intensity. To change the brightness, just twist off and back on within 2 seconds to select. On the brightest intensity it is easily comparable to full size flash lights. The twisting is stiff enough to not accidentally turn on while in the pocket, but not too stiff as to prevent one handed operation. It is also very well constructed and appears to be weather resistant by utilizing o-rings in its design. If you are looking for a LED replacement for your key-chain, get this one and you will not be disappointed.

powerful keychain light,

This review is from: ITP Light A3 EOS Version 2 80-Lumen Cree 7090-XP-E Q5 LED Flashlight Natural Black
Ever since I saw an online review of this device, I wanted one for my key chain. A little testing in the field backed up the reviewer's claim that this is an exceptionally powerful flashlight for the size, with a good reflector to match the advanced Cree emitter. The housing is solid, and it has a glass lens rather than a plastic one. The clip appears to be strong enough to affix the light to one's belt and keep it there. The threads were actually factory-lubricated, something that gets neglected on many expensive light. I think it will survive the occasional dunking. One aspect of the design that left me a little uneasy was the tiny, delicate split ring attached to the end of the light. I wonder how it will hold up under use, but time will tell. Aside from this quibble, the totality of my first impressions suggest that the manufacturer is trying to build a quality brand, and that they want this humble device to represent their company as much as their high-end flashlights. I have a feeling that as long as the switch (statistically the most likely part to malfunction) holds out, this light could be hanging on my keyring for years. I like this light a lot, but this will probably be the last ITP Light product I buy. Why? Because, as confirmed by an examination of the company's website, this manufacturer does not appear to have a US office. That means if you want to send back a defective light, you must send it to China (WITH your receipt--the warranty requires it.) Given the initial cost of the light, this would hardly be worth the shipping expense. In fairness to the manufacturer, a lot of their competitors, including some highly-regarded ones, make it difficult to get warranty service. If ITP Light establishes a US office for customer service, then I would consider their products for another purchase, otherwise I'll stick with better-established companies like Streamlight or Gerber that are known to treat their customers well.

This is an amazing little light, you will be amazed at how much light this thing puts out. The pocket clip that it came with is useless however, i tried using it and everytime i pulled out my keys or pocket knife the light would pop out of my pocket because the clip is too loose and doesnt hold the light securly. So in turn i have taken off the clip and have just attached it to my key ring. When im wearing gym shorts and my fenix cant come with me, this is the next best thing. Once again this is an amzingly bright key chain light. If you havent had the pleasure of seeing new LED technology in the past couple of years this thing will blow you away.

The Short and SweetOwned for over a year. Two issues which were quickly resolved by cleaning/ battery replacement. Still working fine after every day carry abuse. Less expensive than Fenix LD 01. I would recommend this product. Into I have had this flashlight for over a year now. There have been two times when I thought that it was broken however the issue was resolved upon tinkering. The unit itself has been strong enough to stand up to daily abuse. So far being dropped in a puddle or onto concrete, or chewed on by my dog who loves flashlights has not affected anything but the finish. The unit is quite small and integrates well with my every day carry. Criteria My criterion for choosing a flashlight was a small lightweight flashlight with low and high power settings which could provide sufficient illumination for the purpose of identifying an object within a minimum of 15 feet. The flashlight also had to be life proof (shock and water resistant). Deciding Factor Why I chose this flashlight from amongst its peers came down to the price difference. The main competitor for this type of light was the Fenix LD 01. I own several Fenix flashlights and I trust their products. However at the time, the A3 EOS was half the price and change is healthy. Findings What I found was that this product has been fairly reliable over the past year. I have had two issues however. The first issue was that somehow a battery's terminal became dented while in the flashlight. It wasn't like that when it went in so it must have happened when I dropped it. This resulted in losing the high power mode. Replacing the battery fixed the problem. The next issue happened when the flashlight terminal inside was dirty and I again lost the high power mode. Cleaning of the terminal corrected this problem. Both of these issues were quickly and easily corrected but they were issues none the less. Rating Four stars. Five stars are reserved for game changers. Though this product is quite impressive with regards to the amount of light that it puts out, the issues that I encountered prevented me from considering a five star rating. I am marginally curious to see if the LD 01 would perform any better. If I lost it today, I would buy another A3 EOS. If I lost it around Christmas, I would ask for an LD 01 so my wife wouldn't chide me for spending $40.00 of our money on another flashlight. Bottom line. Yes I would buy this product again. I am marginally curious to see if the LD 01 would perform any better.

Pros:1. BRIGHT. The advanced CREE LED is simply amazing when paired with the superior reflector and durable lens. 2. Three levels of brightness, achieved by simply twisting the head 3. No normal switch that can accidentally turn or or fail; twist the head to turn on 4. Powered for long runs by a simple AAA cell. No special, expensive, fat batteries to stock. 5. Slim and very light weight. I attached a brass fishing swivel to it so I can move it easily from keychain to keychain. 6. Always with me. Cons: 1. The chain it comes with does not attach easily to my real keyrings. A Barrel Swivels w/Interlock Brass Size12 7pcs - Eagle Claw Tackle 01031-012, Fishing Terminal Tackle has worked very well. The tiny split ring on the end looks fragile but has performed without a hitch for many, many months. Can't say enough about the brightness of this miniscule flashlight. When on high, this thing illuminates things at thirty feet. The dim/medium/high brightness settings are handy when you are looking a things closer up and don't want to blind yourself. The AAA battery lasts months. I'm only on my second cell after carrying and using this light often. I've noticed that I tend to "conserve" the more expensive cells, knowing they are difficult and expensive to replace. With a single, simple AAA cell, I tend to use the light more, knowing it's easy and cheap to re-cell it.

The Q5 LED in this flashlight is simply awesome! At its brightest setting, you really can light up a lot. Highly recommended for a portable bright light. Just don't lose it due to its small size!
