What is there to say about a battery? It takes a charge and it delivers power. This particular model lasts a very long time. The impulse guns must not require much power to operate because these will drive several thousand nails before dying. My only complaint is that they are expensive compared to other batteries . At the same rate a 12v would be a hundred bucks.

Loyal paslode customer own approx. 10 cordless guns, approx 12 oval batteries, 8 of the batteries have came apart at the clip. The top of the battery comes completly off when you put it in the gun. Have to use black tape to hold the batteries together. Don't have much choice I need a battery to fire the guns trying to find other options. Any sugestions?

Professionals have no problem discharging or discharging these batteries to keep them in good condition.

Things are different for the DIY'er like myself who has 2 Paslode projects a year.

I bought my last Paslode cordless battery in 2006 and it is still good. The secret to NiCad batteries is to exercise them. If not used, most of these batteries will run down in about 75 days. Therefore, I keep a calendar to remind me when to recharge them. If there is any voltage left, I drain and then fully recharge.

Building your own inexpensive discharge device is simple.

I soldered a small copper rod, 12-gauge, 3-inches long to the sides of three 12-volt auto tail light bulbs. I soldered another rod to the ends of the bulbs and attached + and - (black & white) wires to the ends of the rods. I flattened the bare ends of the wires with solder. A rubber band or a bit of electrical tape will hold the wire ends onto the battery terminals for discharging.

Don't leave the battery unattended. A fully charged Paslode battery will take about 20 minutes to discharge. When the bulbs become almost too dim to see, I remove them.

I cut a template or jig out of 1/2-inch cabinet plywood to fit around the end of the Paslode battery allowing a small notch at each terminal just large enough to slip the wires into and stay tight against the terminals. This works great.

Take care of these batteries and they will last for years.

Hobby Shops sell computer operated chargers and dischargers for a wide range of battery types but most cost over $100.00.

A 2-pack of 12-volt tail light bulbs is less than $5.00.

Don't pay cash. Just charge it.

I have a Paslode frame nailer and have gone through a few batteries they seem to crack around the top of the battery which makes them bad and unserviceable. But got to have them to use the nail gun.

This battery worked just as well as the ones in the box stores costing 33% or so more. As Jimmy Fallon says, "Everybody wants more money in their pocket."

My old Paslode batteries both died at the same time. Go figure. So I had to buy new ones. This is the original battery for Paslode angled finish gun. It works great, and holds in the gun like it should. I'm glad i bought these two batteries, because i was getting aggravated with the old ones falling out, plus these last a lot longer. I recommend this original battery to anyone.

I picked up a spare battery for my Paslode since I use it at our remote cabin and charging batteries is a bit of an ordeal. There's not too much to say about the battery itself, works like you'd expect. The battery doesn't have to do much in the gun (runs a cooling fan and fires the spark plug), so it lasts a long time on one charge.
