Does what the label says,
This review is from: IVAREST CREAM Size: 2 OZ (Health and Beauty)
This Double Relief Formula of Ivarest Poison Ivy Itch Relief Maximum Strength 2 oz product actually does what the label says. The cream contains an antihistamine which "helps stop the reaction" and an analgesic which "soothes itch fast."
Beginning in January of this year I began clearing out two large sections of my yard containing stands of orange canna lilies. Spread amongst them were little trees, and a variety of vines, including, of course, poison ivy. Am I allergic? Oh yes, all I have to do is look at poison ivy and whomp! out pop horrific blisters that I must must scratch. Over the first three months of steady work in those stands I have cleared out most of the growth, but at a price. Not once, not twice, but three times that ol' nasty poison ivy bit me. I stayed infected with poison ivy bubbles for three months. I used Calamine lotion, but all it did was cover the blisters. I should have gone to my doctor for a shot and will next time. Instead, I looked around my pharmacy and found Ivarest--you know, rest from ivy! I almost gave four stars because Ivarest does not dry up the blisters, but the label says: "helps stop..." That's exactly what it does: helps. Since I did not go to the trouble of getting a shot, I had to be satisfied with help to stop the reaction. As for relief of itching pain, absolutely, it does soothe and relieve almost immediately. Next time--hopefully there will NEVER be a next time--I WILL call my doctor!

The Best Stuff For Itching,
By BlueBerry "Cereal" (Salt Lake City) - See all my reviews
This review is from: IVAREST CREAM Size: 2 OZ (Health and Beauty)
My wife got some really bad poison ivy in our back yard so we did a web search and, among other suggestions, found this product. It is, in my opinion, the most effective stuff we tried (I can't really remember what else). I now have a tube of it where ever I go - in my backpack, locker at work, table next to my bed, etc because it works on any kind of persistant itch ranging from mosquitoes to itches of unknown origin. It works best if you have already scratched a bit and removed the outer layer of epidermis (not scratched bloody). I highly recommend this for small to moderate persistent itches. But if you think you need to slather on a bunch for something, just go to a doctor and get what ever it is looked at - anything you put on yourself get absorbed into the blood, liver etc.

I love this stuff!,
This review is from: IVAREST CREAM Size: 2 OZ (Health and Beauty)
I don't have Poison Ivy/Oak issues, but I do have heat rash and skin allergies during spring and summer. This stuff clears it up quickly. I also use it on fever blisters/cold sores and pimples when they pop up. It clears them in a couple of days...it stings a bit for about 20 seconds, but it's well worth it!
