This keyboard protector does what it should - keeps gunk out of your computer's internals. The top row labels don't match up right with the MacBook Air - the Air doesn't have an Eject button in the top right (it's the power button) so things are shifted a little funny. Pretty minor problem.

The big caution is that this product (and most any keyboard protectors) WILL damage your screen if you don't protect it. If you want to use this, buy a screen protector or keep a piece of cloth around so that when you close the lid, the screen is not in contact with the flimsy plastic of this keyboard cover. The cover will leave visible residue marks on your screen.

I used this without a screen protector for about 3 weeks before realizing that's what was happening. I carefully cleaned the screen & got most of the residue off. I now use a screen protector.

I ordered this item over a week ago, and immediately put it over my keyboard.
The silicon cover fits over the keys exactly, and the keyboard lights are viewable through the clear cover. The part that covers the faces of the keys is slightly textured, like rubber, and are opaque black.
The cover does not cover any more than just the depressed keypad area, and stays on due to conforming around the keys. If I flip my MacBook upside down, the edge will come off slightly, but stays in place.
The cover is fairly thin, and does not interfere with closing the laptop, nor does it leave any marks on the screen.
I'm not sure how much usage/wear this product can take, but it does the job I bought it for: keeping particulate matter out from between the keys and away from the inside of my laptop.

I was deciding between IVEA and GTMax since they were the two most popular for black keyboard covers. I decided to get the IVEA keyboard cover since I really hate the rub marks on my keyboard. However, my dad didn't know that I already brought one, and had brought a GTmax one for me. I guess I can use the second one once the first one is worn out, and now I can compare the two! I've used both of them for a few weeks to see which one was better.

They both have round corners on the keys, and like other reviews have said the characters are printed onto the cover so you can't see the backlight nor the caps lock light. You can close your screen with the covers on with no trouble. Both of them attract dust. Although they were practically the same price, they do have some differences that you may or may not care about.

Differences:

IVEA - the cover covers up to the middle of the groove of the keyboard. The characters are SO MUCH better printed on than the ones on the GTMax, which had a more noticeable shift of characters to the bottom left and slightly uneven printing (8 is faded, the caps locks is slightly blurry, the black on the sides of the keys on the furthermost right is slightly faded like the the keys weren't completely sprayed on). The characters on the IVEA one do have a slight shift, but it's hardly noticeable and practically looks like you don't have a cover on. However, compared to the GTmax, the sides of the keys are a lot stiffer and it's hard to press down on the sides. Actually, you have to push pretty much in the middle, but over time you could get used to this. For me, though, after testing it out for like two weeks, I felt slightly annoyed at the added effort needed to press the keys and that my typing speed slowed down because of it (and I don't even type that fast). Also, compared to the GTMax, the fit isn't as good. The IVEA one seems to have the buttons a mm or 2 higher than the actual keys, so when you press down a key it's like a noticeable depression. Also, for some keys there are like air bubbles because of the ill fit; like, part of the skin is sticking to the key while a part isn't, so the keys don't look even (not really noticeable except on the spacebar).

GTMax - the print isn't as good as the IVEA. IVEA definitely wins on the print. However, on the GTMax, the fit is a lot better and the sides aren't as stiff, so it's easier to get used to typing with the cover. I hardly notice the cover while typing with the GTMax but I do notice on the IVEA one. The GTMax also covers the whole groove of the keyboard. When you press on a key with GTMax at first you do notice a depression but after a while you won't even notice it. There are also no air bubbles like the IVEA one. Although the print isn't as good as the IVEA, people will not notice that your laptop has a cover on from afar. I think that GTMax wins on comfort.

I decided to use the GTMax one until it's worn out since I don't really notice it while typing and I don't have to push as hard and accurately. Although the IVEA's printing is higher quality, I can't really get used to typing on it and the stiff sides and air bubbles annoy me. Both serve their jobs as keyboard covers and keep your key board clean, so depending on your preferences either one can do.

This is the best keyboard cover our family has ever purchased. My husband and I both received our own MacBook Pro for Christmas. We bought covers for the aluminum body and I purchased two of these keyboard covers to protect them. When I received them I immediately put them on each keyboard. My husband couldn't believe how "invisible" the cover looked on his keyboard. It is amazing how perfectly they fit and how it looks as if your keyboard has no cover. Typing is easy and it's nice to just take off the cover and rinse them off once in a while, and they leave your keyboard pristine. Highly recommend this product.

Nice cover for my 13" MacBook pro. Fits perfectly and doesn't even look like I'm using a cover (I have the black color). Blocks dust and dirt from entering through the keypad. About once a month, I remove the cover and rinse it off with warm water, then allow it to air dry.

Only negatives are that your fingers do tend to stick to the keys making fast typing difficult and the cover blocks the backlighting so I can't really see the keys at night. Otherwise a great purchase.

A quick review of the IVEA keyboard cover. The cover is being used on a 2011 MacBook Air 13". The cover fits the Air, but does prohibit the screen from closing all the way.

Received my package today, and am very pleased with my purchase! The keyboard cover slips on very nicely onto my 13" MacBook, and it doesn't slide or move around. It does attract dust, as most silicone products do, but it's not a problem -- very easy to clean to begin with. The keys also have a nice spring to them when I type now, which is also a plus :D

Not up the standards I was expecting. The cover does not fit my 13" MacBook Pro correctly. Also the backside is completed blacked so the illuminated keyboard does not shine through. Not happy at all.

I did a fair amount of research going into buying this item for my new MacBook Pro as I wasn't sure I even wanted or needed one. The reason I ultimately ended up choosing this one over the others was a YouTube video that I saw on a review this product and I noticed that it actually had ALL the buttons printed on the skin. A lot of these companies decide not to print the keyboard illumination buttons due to the fact the keys don't necessarily light up through the printed skin. This one was the only cheap one I found that did for sure and I definitely was NOT going to pay $20+ for one when I could get one for $2. Usually you get what you pay for but in this case, I couldn't ask more much more, especially for two bucks.
It fits perfectly on my 13" MacBook Pro as it will on all the other Mac products that have this same keyboard. The keyboard illumination actually DOES shine through in between all the keys making it easier to see at night. It would be nice if they didn't print white where the actual letter of the keys were so they would shine through better but it doesn't really bug me. If it's really dark and you have your illumination turned all the way up, you can see the letter just fine.
I've read some reviews that talk about overheating/fan issues due to the fact that your MacBook can't "breathe" or ventilate through the keyboard like it's deigned to do. I haven't had any issues with that so far but I honestly haven't done any hardcore gaming on here or anything, just normal use. It is worth mentioning that I do have a hardshell case on this thing at the same time and still no overheating or ventilation issues. It's a little hard to type on as I'm used to a smoother, slicker surface but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Shipping was extremely fast; it came in the mail two days after I ordered it I think. It arrived flat in an envelope (not folded or rolled up.) And did I mention it was only TWO DOLLARS?? An even $2 with tax and no shipping charge! I highly recommend this product to anyone looking into buying one of these to keep the dust and crumbs out of their expensive investment.

I want to start off by stating that this is the third keyboard cover i have purchased and although its been the least expensive and is only black (my other are red and purple that arrived more of a fuchsia lol) The IVEA fits the best. The others i have purchased also fit great but this one almost makes it look like you have no cover at all. One slight drawback although, is that around the edges of the keys the backlight DOES come through, however the center of the key where the letter or number shows the light DOESN'T show through like the actual apple keyboard. Which is actually fine by me because although the light does not come through like my other skins, my other skin's letter don't line up correctly so this one actually looks more of an OEM product then the other i have .But on the upside the skin has been updated to include the latest function keys on the top row so every single key matches exact on my 2011 thirteen inch macbook pro with Lion. The skin is not to bulky or thin and actually quiets the sound of the keys a little, but does give a different typing feeling mostly because your fingers don't slide as easy being that they have a rubbery feel to them with the skin on. ..however for the price, fit, and overall application it exceeded my expectations. I definitely recommend it, especially since the store i bought my macbook sold a similar product for $29.99 plus tax. Save yourself the cash for a thunderbolt display to hdmi cable or nice sleeve for your macbook. Buy this skin and although you got to it by reading the review of this product i will leave the link here anyways. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002XK4M4K/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title
