Worked like a dream with my Samsung Galaxy S3 and my Nexus 7 2013.

This one was oriented as in the picture, had the right angle connector on the micro USB side and the cable would be going upward in standard landscape mode.
Jeremy
These on the go cables are great for connecting USB keyboards, external hard drives, etc. to my Nexus tablet.

I bought this to use with my nexus seven and it works just as advertised. I received prompt shipping and a quality piece. One nice thing I didn't realize when I bought the cable is that I didn't have to root my tablet in order to use it with a USB. I just downloaded Nexus Media Importer and it worked. Sorry, I realize this has nothing to do with the product, but it just made me all the more happy. This is a decent quality piece, not stellar quality, but then nor am I paying for stellar quality. It just gets the job done.

I bought the IVSO Nexus 7 Tablet Micro USB Host OTG Cable to use with my Nexus 10 tablet. I have the 16GB tablet and so want to conserve internal storage space. From earlier reviews I also picked up Nexus Media Importer from the Google Play store to use with this adapter. I tried it with an 8GB Corsair USB flash drive and a 4GB generic USB flash drive. It worked without problem with both of them. I can now listen to music or watch video off the flash drive. The Media software will give you the option of copying the files or just making a temporary copy so the Nexus can play the files. Some previous reviewers complained about the orientation of the adapter. It appears to be changed now and the connector points down along the side of the Nexus when in landscape mode. So this will work great if you want to attach a keyboard for example. It is not as convenient however if you want to use the Nexus in portrait mode.

A couple of things I found when using the Media Importer is that it will read PDF files and PowerPoint files correctly. With some of my Word documents however, the font was changed which I think may be due more to the original font I used rather than the software. I also had to get another video player as the Media Importer did not detect the one that came with the Nexus. I got MoboPlayer which doesn't come with a lot a adware or spamware and my Antivirus program detected no problems as it did with a number of other video players from the Google store so be careful. After a few days usage I have had no problems so far and highly recommend this adapter.

This is great if you need to transfer files from an SD card your Nexus 7/10. I have both a Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 and this cable worked with both tablets. Well made cable, should last a long time.

I use this to transfer files from my Nikon D7000 to my tablet so I can upload them from the field quickly. For hardware I use a generic SDHC card reader and this cable. For software you'll need the "Nexus Media Importer" app from the play store ($3.99). BEFORE you plug the cable in, insert your card into the reader, THEN plug the cable into the tablet. The app immediately pops up and lets you browse and copy files. If you need to upload your files you can either use twitter/facebook/flicker/etc., an FTP client or Dropbox. Just keep in mind that you have to copy files FROM the card TO the tablet before you can do anything with them, so if you have lots of files you might have to do it in stages to avoid filling up the storage on your tablet.

Just a head's up--the connector curves to the RIGHT of the microUSB port--aka, it curves UP when your device is in landscape mode (unless you flip your device itself upside down, but some apps have fixed rotation and can't adjust to upside-down landscape). I used a USB keyboard with the N7 in landscape mode; the cable had to run up, around, and back down again--a little awkward, but it works. I wouldn't say this was engineered with the Nexus 7 specifically in mind, but it does the job.

This is really handy...I have lots of music and movies that I can't store on the tablet. Nexus 7 has limited capacity compared to the size of the media files we all have. This cable does a wonderful job of expanding my library/choice and also free up enough space on the tablet for optimal performance (tablet). I like my tablet to be clutter free performing well so I have to keep it light and clean.

Before I used to plan my mobile entertainment when I have a long flight or ride. Now I can just take my portable drive with me and open-up my choices.

P.S:- You would need "Nexus Media Importer" a paid ($3.99) app to make use of the cable w/o having to root the device

I bought this for my new Nexus 7 2 (2013), based on the large number of positive reviews.
Unfortunately, the Nexus 7 (2013) has its USB socket in a different place from the older Nexus 7 (2012). The USB connector is angled the wrong way (in fact, one is better off buying a straight cable (like the one I bought: SANOXY® USB 2.0 A Female to Micro B Male Adapter Cable Micro USB Host Mode OTG Cable). Moreover, the micro-USB plug is WAY too long (read other reviews which complain about the same thing) -- it tends to fall out and the connection is not secure.

To do this product justice, it does its job as a USB OTG cable. Unfortunately, it's practically useless for the Nexus 7 (2013).

I returned mine for a refund.

Good working cable. Fits well in the Nexus 7. 4 stars because the angle on the micro-USB points up instead of down when in landscape mode. Also, the micro-USB is a little large and "spread-out" the USB port on my Nexus 7, making other cables a little loose in the port. Otherwise, all is working (including the other cables) and appears to be excellent quality.
