This is the life!!,

Initially I hesitated because the price was far too low and I had deep misgivings concerning the workmanship of this timepiece. But upon purchasing it I found it to be quite remarkable in every way. Not only are souls of deceased popes, prophets and kings embedded into this watch but it constantly maintains simultaneous two-way connections to Buddah, Jesus, the Prophet Mohammed, and Moses. It makes intergalactic travel a breeze and it definitely holds up to the wears and tears of traveling light-speed between uncharted quasars. This watch, however, is far from perfect. It allows for only 80 simultaneous rifts in the space time continuum severely limiting both time travel capabilities and dark energy manipulation. Moreover, while this watch can instantaneously transform itself into a living breathing Megan Fox completely subject to your will, there is far too much grass on the field for any civilized gentleman. I would've returned it but one of the third world infants we use as Christmas tree ornaments happened to free herself and managed to zap herself into a parallel existence. I say good riddance to them both!

Well worth the money,

Fantastic timepiece that is surprisingly heavy on my wrist. The only problem I have is that it doesn't look like it's worth $100000. I paid $88000 for mine and didn't buy it from Amazon, because of fear it might get lost in the mail. When I wear this watch I feel rich, but I want others to tremble in my presence and women to strip off their clothing and present their bodies tome. Unfortunately it does neither.I was deciding between buying this watch or paying down my mortgage. I decided to get a home equity loan and add to my mortgage. It's ammortized over 35 years so I barely feel the payments. And if I do end up losing my house, wife, and car, i'll still have this beauty around my wrist. For those who ask why one would pay so much for this watch, it's the same as buying a Hyundai vs. a Lamborghini. This looks better, performs better, and damn it, not everyone is driving one. The movements and mechanicals are in-house engineered. What else am I supposed to do with my money? This watch reminds me everyday that I am better than everyone else and that I need material possession to validate my existence, and not all that other hokey stuff like love, religions, children or charity. God bless this country and all that it has given to me. I wish all of you reading this could get a CEO-like severance package like I did. Quitting never felt this good. You should buy this watch if you can afford it. What am I talking about, if you can afford it, you wouldnt be on amazon.com The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is, I prefer a shiny black face, this one is a dark gray. Also, they need to make a digital model with a light so it's easier to read at night.

Am I the only one who hates this watch? The strap gets in my way when I slap my hoes and count my money.

Kidney Wasn't Enough,
This review is from: IWC Men's IW504207 Portuguese Tourbillon Myst?re Watch (Watch)
I don't know where the other reviewer sold his kidney, but mine only got me 1/2 of the cost. I had to make up the other half by selling both my arms, too. I should have thought that one through.

So, I purchased this (after explaining to my wife how the surgery she needed to live would be postponed...I mean seriously, she is NOT understanding)and could not be happier. Not only does it have numbers 1-12, THEY ARE IN ORDER!!! Why no one snatches (uh uhuhuh I said snatches....uh huhuhuhuh)this up is beyond me. I mean you get it all with this watch: The dead souls of the Vikings. Instructions on where to find the Holy Grail. Who really killed Kennedy. The truth that professional wrestling is REAL! It was delivered to my house by a cadre of 53 virgins, my first wife included, and was placed with great trumpeting fanfare on the doorstep to my trailer(how do you book angels?!?). It was wrapped in genuine unicorn testicle. Very Impressive. At first, I was taken aback by a hologram of Isaac Newton(great great great great great grandfather of Wayne Newton)explaining how it works. The showgirls dressed in Renaissance garb was a bit confusing, but I worked it out. Amazing that it not only tells time, but it also SHIFTS it. One minute I was talking to Jesus about the origins of the Easter Bunny, and the next thing you know I was actually at the 2243 World Series watching the Cubs win against Tahiti. Buy this watch!

Inconspicuous Consumption,
By
This review is from: IWC Men's IW504207 Portuguese Tourbillon Myst?re Watch (Watch)
If you're reading this review, you probably know how respected IWC is among people who know watches. Unlike Rolex and Cartier, IWC is somewhat esoteric and therefore most people aren't going to recognize how truly magnificent this watch is. That problem truly takes the conspicuousness out of your consumption. I mean, a $20 quartz watch would be more functional by keeping better time and not having to be on a winder when not worn for a while. But this watch, the Portuguese Tourbillon Mystère, is an example of remarkable craftsmanship, function be damned. A tourbillon movement is the ultimate of frivolity among watches when watches themselves are practically frivolous in this age of ubiquitous cell phones that have almost atomic clock time accuracy. Should we call this the ultimate in inconspicuous consumption? Yes, especially if the watch is worn tucked under your shirt cuff.Buy the watch? With that dough I could provide complete college educations for at least a few intelligent but needy kids. Or feed thousands of hungry families in the third world. How many mosquito nets in Africa could be bought for the price of this watch? Who cares? I've got the IWC Portuguese Tourbillon Mystère Watch sitting on my watch winder back home. And I have my cell phone with me when I need accurate time.

I love my new watch, however, I must caution that last week the same item was offered, BUT CAME WITH A FREE Mp3 DOWNLOAD. I'd advise to wait, as I'm sure that offer may repeat!

My thoughts...,

With the 15,200 you save at Amazon you can buy a replacement bandIt is water resistant up to 99ft, really? Because my watches that cost .33% as much are resistant up to 330 ft. No one and I mean no one will ever be impressed that your watch has "44 jewels of movement" I bet the band is actually made from unicorn skin, hence the high price. You should get a certificate allowing you to slap anyone wearing a Rolex They made 250...and still have 249 left I'm buying one for each wrist In 10 years it will be worth double, then who's laughing? ...or I could get a Porsche 911...no those are too dangerous

The best watch ever,
By
This review is from: IWC Men's IW504207 Portuguese Tourbillon Myst?re Watch (Watch)
With all this needless snark, I'm beginning to think that most people believe that only an idiot would buy such an extravagant time piece. I can tell you from first hand (no pun intended) experience that I, sir, am not an idiot. I have long complained that accessories for men are few and far between. Cuff links are fine if you can't afford a shirt with buttons and, although it "officially" qualifies as an accessory, belts do not count in my book. It isn't an accessory if, without it, your pants fall down. For a sophisticated man like myself, who appreciates the finer things in life, a fine time piece is the height of luxury. In ancient Egypt, Pharaohs wore huge stone sun dials on their wrists. That's why their arms look so strangely long in all the carvings and statues. Worse, unless they had a candle or fireplace, the darn things didn't even work at night! When mechanical clocks came along a few years later, they became all the rage. Now, royalty could more accurately keep track of the money people owed them, and compound interest by the second! The idea of wearing a clock on your wrist was awkward at first. Having something the size of a dinner plate, and weighing about 30 pounds, strapped to your wrist made it difficult to scratch one's own nose, or care for other more personal hygiene issues. Thus, slavery was born. So, as you can see, I can wear this watch proudly, and hold my head up high, knowing that I'm part of a long and important tradition. Am I an idiot? I don't think so. |
