I have a fairly new laptop that came with Vista :(

The game runs ok but if I don't solve a puzzle on the first go it will ask me if I want to try again. When I say yes another question comes up that starts with "Would you like to " but before I can read more it goes back to the main menu and then if I select something like "Play" it crashes to the desktop.

So maybe it is Vista or maybe there is something with the wrapper that Amazon put around the game that is making it crash.

I have a very stable Windows XP machine. The game produces some weird errors.

(1) If I run out of time on a level, it will ask me if I want to give up a life in exchange for advancing to the next level, and then crash.

(2) When I exited out of full-screen mode, the cursor disappeared and I can't get the program back into functional full-screen mode.

When the game is up and running, it is a lot of fun. The graphics on the jewels are colorful and the background music is really fun.

If you like Bejeweled you will enjoy this one.

Jewel Quest II is a fun and addictive game. It requires more thought than Bejeweled or similar puzzle games because the player needs to align the jewels in particular spots in order to get each space on the board. Overall, a solid game. I just wish my girlfriend wouldn't consistently beat me at it!

I downloaded and installed this game on my laptop running Vista Premium. No problems during the download and install . . . but running the game is a different matter.

Unfortunately, it does not work and play well with my system. It is almost jerky and takes an inordinately long time to respond to my mouse.

The puzzles quickly become challenging, and this makes the poor performance of the game itself even more frustrating.

Four stars for concept; one star for performance. Send it back to the programmers for reworking.

Quits to desktop or goes to "Play Game" screen randomly. Start again & I'm back to where I started last level. Scoring seems to be off too. High score shows different level then when playing a board. Really want to like this new Amazon feature.

The game play is fun and addicting, but the game keeps crashing under Win XP. "This application performed an illegal operation ..." I have to think that this is due to the fact that this is a special Amazon-only version (it requires you to have the Amazon.com download application installed in order to run) and that there exists some bug. I don't know if there will be a patch or an updated version to fix this ... and I'm not going to hold my breath.

The 2 star overall rating is solely due to the crashing bug, which is really a show-stopper if you ask me.

Great game, lots of fun to play but it crashes all the time! I have never stopped playing this edition; it stops! Save the money here and go buy version 1 or 3. Seriously.

I'm having the same issue as many others. I can play fine for awhile, but when I don't finish a puzzle, I get a quick message that I can't read and then the game quits. The message says something about using a life but then it's gone. I have tried the game with a computer running vista and one with xp. The same thing happens on both computers. An error report is always sent, but no suggestions for fixing have appeared.

Fun game but it crashes, crashes, crashes. If I time out on a level it asks me to exchange one life for moving on, and it doesn't matter how I answer, it pauses the game and nothing short of using task manager will shut it down. LAME. I'm glad I got this one for free.
