been playing for close to 6 years and i bought this 5 years ago and i still play it to this day it is great for metal,rock,blues and anything in between, its dirt cheap but plays like a dream only thing i do not enjoy is the tremolo could use a little work

I bought one of these, the left-handed version GRX20L from zzounds back in October, liked it so much I bought 2nd backup one from an ebay seller recently, this guitar is great. Unfortunately they are discontinued as of Feb 2012 by Ibanez; if you can find one they're a fantastic first guitar.

It's solid, and well made, stays in tune, super sound when playing metal, pop, jazz and everything else. It's rare for me to buy 2 of anything unless it's something I like so much I'm confident I'll use for at least 10 years, and the Ibanez GRX20 definitely fits the bill. So I bought two of them. I'll upgrade to higher-end Ibanez guitars after a few years, but for now this one's great, I've played it for hundreds of hours, and it's a superb first guitar, very well made.
