This review is from: Ibanez Mikro 3/4 Size Electric Guitar Package with Amp (Toy)
I really researched every guitar model before I decided upon this Ibanez. I bought several guitars just to compare the quality and sound. I think that this guitar is over priced! I also bought a Chinese knockoff SK model and it's craftmanship and sound was excellent when compared to the Ibanez, I prefer the SK. First, if you are buying a beginners guitar for kids , why spend so much money for the Ibanez set? The SK is better and cheaper! Second, the Ibanez plug jack is located at the bottom of the guitar and it always comes loose. I keep tightening the receptacle but it works loose. It seems that a persons lap, leg, or just standing and moving causes the cable to contort in such a way as to loosen the receptacle. Ibanez needs to use some sort of lock washer. Third, the receptacle is just hanging in there and too much twisting will cause the wires to break loose. The receptacle should be shaped and forced into a shaped wooden hole of the guitar to facilitate stability. I mean folks, for the price I paid this guitar should impress and it doesn't. It cost twice as much as the SK and the SK has a better setup. The receptacle on the SK is located on the guitar face which seems to do alot better. The cable has room to bend before it reaches your lap and the guitar had shoulder that guard the receptacle and cable. It is a well thought out design. The SK guitar was flawless and holds it's tuning better. I did noticed a little more humm in the single pickups on the SK, but I was able to tone them out to a minimum.
